Hello friend

It’s lovely to meet you

I’m Ellie, a lifelong cruise lover who can spend way too much time studying deck plans before picking a cabin. I built Cruise Ship Insights to turn that research into practical, ship-specific advice, so you can choose a ship and room with fewer surprises.

How these guides are made

Checked, sourced, and dated.

Editorial standards
01

Deck plans first

I start with the ship itself, tracing cabin locations, public spaces, traffic routes, and the decks that create real trade-offs.

02

Passengers, not brochures

Official details are checked against recent menus, sailing reports, and the patterns real guests keep mentioning.

03

Said out loud when thin

If evidence is limited, changing, or based on a small number of reports, the guide tells you plainly.

Before you book

How to choose a cruise ship, and the right room on it

The right cruise starts with the ship, not just the itinerary. Think about the pace you enjoy, how much walking feels reasonable, whether you want big attractions or quiet corners, and which onboard spaces your group will actually use.

Once the ship fits, the room location matters. A cabin can look perfect in a brochure and still sit beneath a pool deck, beside a crew door, far from the elevators, or behind a view obstruction. Reading the full deck plan before booking is one of the simplest ways to avoid paying more for a room that suits you less.
