Corrections come first

If something on this site is wrong or out of date, that’s the most useful message you can send. Ships change faster than websites do. Tell me the page, what’s wrong, and where you saw the correct information if you have it.

Things worth reporting:

  • A deck plan that no longer matches the ship.
  • A venue that moved, closed, or was replaced in a refurbishment.
  • Cabins that were renumbered or moved into a different category.
  • A wrong cabin number, deck, or category on one of my guides.
  • Anything factually off about a ship.
  • Broken links, or a page that renders badly on your device.

Corrections are handled under the Editorial Standards and Corrections Policy.

Tell me about your cabin

Firsthand cabin reports are the hardest thing to research and the most valuable thing a reader can give me. If you’ve just gotten off a ship and your cabin was noticeably good or noticeably bad, I want to hear about it.

What makes a report usable:

  • The ship and the exact cabin number.
  • Your sailing date.
  • What you noticed, in as much detail as you can manage.
  • What time of day it happened.
  • Whether it happened once or every night.
  • Photos or video, if you have them and you’re happy for me to use them.

One thing to be upfront about: a single report doesn’t become a published claim on its own. I treat it as a lead. It gets checked against the current deck plan and against other passengers’ accounts before it turns into a warning on a guide. That’s not skepticism about you, it’s how the site stays trustworthy when reports disagree, which they often do.

Also welcome

  • Ship requests. If the ship you’re sailing isn’t covered, say which one. It moves up the list.
  • Refurbishment news. If a ship you sailed came out of dry dock looking different from what’s documented here, tell me what changed.
  • Press, partnerships and permissions, including requests to reuse text or images from the site.
  • General feedback about the site, including the parts you think are wrong.

What I can’t do

CruiseShipInsights is an independent editorial site. It isn’t a cruise line, a travel agency, or a booking service, and it has no relationship with any operator. So I can’t:

  • Change or upgrade your cabin assignment.
  • Cancel, rebook, or modify a reservation.
  • Issue a refund or credit.
  • Fix a charge on your onboard account.
  • Look up your booking.
  • Step in on a customer service dispute with a cruise line.

For any of that, your cruise line or travel agent is the only place that can actually help. I’d rather tell you that now than have you wait three days for me to say it.

I also can’t help in real time on sailing day. Cabin assignments, muster times and onboard changes come from your cruise line’s own notices, and those are the sources to trust when it matters.
