Celebrity Beyond Deck-by-Deck Guide: Best Decks and Routes

Celebrity Beyond is gorgeous, but the wrong cabin location can turn an easy vacation into a daily march from one end of the ship to the other.

This guide helps you choose a comfortable home base and learn the simplest routes to dining, entertainment, pools, and quiet outdoor spaces.

Short version

  • Best all-around cabin decks: Decks 8 through 10 sit comfortably inside the residential stack and work well for most travelers.
  • Best for motion sensitivity: Choose a lower, midship cabin on Deck 7 or 8 instead of a high room near the bow or stern.
  • Best for dining and nightlife: Deck 7 keeps Grand Plaza, The Theatre, The Club, and restaurants close with some separation.
  • Best for pools and spa: Decks 11 and 12 shorten the trip upstairs, but compare the exact space above a Deck 12 cabin.
  • Best traditional balconies: Look at Sunset Verandas aft or porthole verandas forward if a fully outdoor balcony matters.

Deck 2: Medical Facility and operational access

Deck 2 is an operational passenger level with the Medical Facility and, where shown on the deck plan, port-day embarkation functions. Follow the ship’s announced route because gangway and tender access can change by port.

Beyond is easier when you think Grand Plaza low, cabins middle, resort decks high

Decks 3 through 5 carry the Theatre, Grand Plaza, four main dining rooms, casino, The Club, Le Voyage, Raw on 5, Fine Cut, Blu, Café al Bacio, World Class Bar, and the lower levels of Eden. This is where most evenings happen.

Decks 6 through 12 are mostly accommodation, which is why the middle of that stack works so well. Deck 14 then jumps into the Solarium, spa, main pool, Oceanview Café, Mast Grill, and Magic Carpet before decks 15 through 17 split into Rooftop Garden, Sunset Bar, fitness, and The Retreat.

Celebrity skips Deck 13, so Deck 12 is directly below Deck 14. That missing number is the single most important thing to remember when a booking screen makes Deck 12 look safely two floors below the pool.

Beyond gives the aft Sunset Bar and Rooftop Garden plenty of room. That makes aft a stronger destination on this ship instead of simply the place you go for Eden.

Keep the Beyond deck plan open while comparing cabin numbers, especially around Eden, the Magic Carpet, and the Resort Deck.

Browse the Beyond ship page before reserving dining or activities, and use accessible cruising support when stairs, tenders, or long corridors could affect your plans.

Deck 3: Grand Plaza starts here, and two main dining rooms live aft

Deck 3 combines lower cabins with the bottom level of the Theatre, Camp at Sea, Guest Relations, the lower Grand Plaza, Martini Bar, and the aft Normandie and Tuscan restaurants. It is a surprisingly busy floor for such a low deck.

The Martini Bar is the landmark to use because the three-story Grand Plaza revolves around it visually and socially. Once you know where the Plaza sits, decks 4 and 5 become much easier to understand.

Normandie and Tuscan are two of Beyond’s four complimentary main dining rooms, which is an important dining detail to learn. You are not repeatedly returning to one enormous dining hall, so dinner traffic gets spread among smaller venues on decks 3 and 4.

Choose a Deck 3 cabin only when lower motion or a strong fare matters. Most cruisers get a better balance several decks higher without moving anywhere near the pool.

Deck 4: Le Voyage, dining, casino, and entertainment

Deck 4 layers the Theatre, Grand Plaza, casino, Café al Bacio, Craft Social, Le Grand Bistro, Cyprus and Cosmopolitan restaurants, Le Voyage, The Club, and Eden Restaurant into one busy evening band.

Le Voyage by Daniel Boulud is one of Beyond’s defining specialty restaurants. It sits just off the Grand Plaza and gives the midship dining zone another serious destination.

Café al Bacio is the landmark to use during the day, while the casino and Grand Plaza become more useful after dinner. The Club also spans levels and hosts activities before shifting into livelier programming at night.

Eden Restaurant anchors the aft end and begins the transition into the giant glass-backed Eden complex. If Eden is a repeat evening destination, aft accommodation becomes much more appealing than a generic “midship is always best” rule suggests.

Deck 5: Fine Cut, Raw on 5, Blu, World Class Bar, and Eden make this a favorite evening deck

Deck 5 has the upper Theatre, Fine Cut Steakhouse, Raw on 5, Blu, World Class Bar, shops, Grand Plaza overlooks, The Club, Eden Café, Eden Bar, and the middle level of Eden. It is the deck to explore slowly after boarding because so many later plans branch from here.

Raw on 5 sits on Deck 5 beside the starboard Magic Carpet structure. Celebrity can assign the moving platform different operating positions, so treat any dining use as schedule-dependent rather than a guaranteed connection.

Blu is reserved for AquaClass guests and gives that cabin category its own dining geography. If Blu is part of every breakfast and dinner, a midship cabin becomes more useful than one chosen solely around the pool.

Eden spans decks 4 through 6 at the stern. Its internal stairs and ramps form part of the venue, but travelers who need a particular step-free route should confirm the operating path onboard rather than assuming every internal connection is open.

Deck 6: the cheapest veranda-looking cabins need the most careful view check

Deck 6 is the first big accommodation level and includes Infinite Verandas, Infinite Verandas with partial views, porthole verandas, panoramic ocean views, insides, and Magic Carpet Sky Suites. It is also the cabin deck closest to the public world below.

Lifeboats and tender equipment sit below much of the side profile, which is why lower Infinite Verandas can have more hardware in the sightline than the same category higher up. The partial-view label is one to take literally here.

The starboard Magic Carpet rails create another special case. Cabins beside that structure can see the giant orange framework, and some suites or Infinite Verandas have a more industrial side view than the glossy render suggests.

Deck 6 is also immediately over the Theatre, Grand Plaza, restaurants, shops, and Eden depending on the location. Choose it for price or a specific porthole veranda, not as a blind first choice.

If motion sensitivity is strong, the lower position can be useful. Simply choose the room carefully rather than accept a guarantee and hope the obstruction lands somewhere convenient.

Deck 7: excellent in most places, but the very aft cabins can hear Eden

Deck 7 is where the cabin stack starts getting easier. Most public-space problems below have more separation, and there is another full residential deck above.

The exception is far aft. Eden’s music and performances can carry upward into the lowest Sunset Verandas and Sunset Sky Suites, especially during the evening show window.

If you want a traditional aft balcony and early sleep, move to Deck 8 or 9 rather than give up the Sunset Veranda entirely. The wake view is excellent; it just does not require sleeping directly over Eden.

Midship and forward Deck 7 cabins are much easier to recommend. This is where a guarantee assignment starts feeling more comfortable if the category itself is right.

Deck 8: a strong lower-middle deck for Sunset Verandas

Deck 8 sits inside the residential stack with cabins above and below, while keeping the Grand Plaza and Eden only a few floors down. It is one of the simplest standard-cabin recommendations on Beyond.

For a Sunset Veranda, Deck 8 is where to start. You keep the traditional outdoor balcony and wake view while gaining another floor of separation from Eden compared with Deck 7.

For Infinite Verandas, the choice is similarly easy. Lifeboat hardware sits farther below, the Magic Carpet structure remains something to check on starboard, and no public deck is attached to your ceiling.

Stay reasonably near the aft elevator bank if Eden and Sunset Bar are part of the daily routine. The saved horizontal walking matters more than being perfectly centered on the ship.

Decks 9 and 10 are the safest all-around answer

If Deck 8 is the first easy yes, decks 9 and 10 are the boringly excellent answer. They sit deep inside the cabin tower, far from Eden’s sound and still several floors below the Resort Deck.

Deck 9 is especially good for people who plan to use stairs occasionally because decks 4 and 5 remain within a realistic walk downward. Deck 10 moves you slightly closer to the pool and Oceanview Café without changing the noise profile much.

Midship gives the best average motion profile, but choose an aft-leaning room if Sunset Bar, Eden, and Rooftop Garden will be repeat destinations. Beyond’s expanded aft outdoor area makes that choice especially valuable.

For a normal Infinite Veranda with no other priorities, Deck 9 or 10 is an easy final choice.

Deck 11 is the high version of the sweet spot

Deck 11 remains fully residential and puts you only one cabin deck below the Resort Deck because Celebrity skips 13. That makes it a strong choice for people who want the pool, Solarium, spa, and Oceanview Café closer without taking on Deck 12’s ceiling risk.

The view is high and open, while the ceiling stays residential. Deck 11 is also preferable to Deck 12 for Concierge Class when both are available at similar fares.

Aft Sunset Verandas here sit well above Eden and closer to Sunset Bar, which is an excellent combination for adults who care about wake views. Forward Infinite Verandas put the Solarium and spa within easy reach.

The motion tradeoff is slightly greater than Deck 8 or 9. For most people it is minor; for a motion-sensitive cruiser, lower and central still wins.

Deck 12 is not “avoid” or “book.” It depends on the ceiling

Deck 12 is directly under Deck 14, and Deck 14 changes from spa and Solarium forward to the main pool midship and Oceanview Café aft. Those three ceilings create three very different cabins on the same floor.

Forward Concierge Class cabins beneath the quieter spa-side area can be remarkably peaceful. They also sit beneath a substantial overhang, which creates extra shade but does not necessarily damage the horizon view.

Midship cabins beneath the pool can hear music, deck activity, or furniture depending on the exact location. The overhang and support beams are more visually obvious here, especially for anyone who wanted an unobstructed upward sky view from an Infinite Veranda.

Aft cabins beneath Oceanview Café and its kitchen are the Deck 12 locations to avoid most aggressively as a light sleeper. Carts, prep, cleaning, and heavy service movement can continue when the dining room itself looks closed.

If the equivalent cabin exists on Deck 11, choose 11. If a forward Deck 12 Concierge room comes with a meaningful fare advantage, do not reject it just because the deck number has a bad reputation.

Magic Carpet Sky Suites are their own cabin category, not just Sky Suites beside a landmark

Magic Carpet Sky Suites line the starboard side beside the giant orange rails that carry the Magic Carpet between decks. The suite balcony can be larger and more interesting than a standard Sky Suite balcony, but the structural frame becomes part of the view.

The Magic Carpet does not constantly move, and nobody rides it while it is traveling between decks. You can still hear or notice the machinery when it passes, which matters more to a very light sleeper than to someone who specifically wants the unusual balcony.

Many of these suites also connect to the cabin next door. Check the connecting-door symbol if sound isolation matters, because the door can be more relevant to sleep than the orange platform outside.

Book a Magic Carpet Sky Suite for its balcony and side window, not because the moving platform itself is a perk.

Deck 14 is the Resort Deck, and it explains every Deck 12 warning

Deck 14 is where Beyond turns into a resort. The covered adults-only Solarium sits forward beside The Spa and Sea Thermal Suite, while the main Pool Deck occupies the center and Oceanview Café fills much of the aft.

The main lap pool is unusually long for a cruise ship, and the surrounding outward-facing loungers make the central deck feel more like a modern hotel than a traditional ship pool. Mast Grill and Pool Bar keep casual food and drinks close.

The Solarium is the calmer place for adults when the main pool turns busy or windy. The glass-covered space gives you a pool, hot tubs, and a much calmer atmosphere without needing Retreat access.

Oceanview Café is a major traffic generator from breakfast through dinner, which is why Deck 12 aft deserves the ceiling warning. It is better to stay on Deck 10 or 11 and ride up when you are hungry.

The Magic Carpet also parks at this level at times and becomes an extension of the pool deck. It is a fun place for a drink and one more reason the starboard side has a different visual identity from port.

The Resort Deck can have two different layouts

Use the Resort Deck layout shown in your cruise planner when checking what sits above a Deck 12 cabin.

Deck 15: Rooftop Garden and Sunset Bar are why Beyond’s aft end stands out

Deck 15 puts Fitness Center and The Retreat Lounge forward while Rooftop Garden, Rooftop Garden Grill, jogging track, and Sunset Bar pull you aft. It is a deck with two completely different personalities.

Beyond’s Sunset Bar spreads across generous tiered terraces. The wake-facing terraces make this one of the spaces worth returning to every afternoon, which gives aft cabin locations real practical value.

Rooftop Garden adds another landscaped outdoor lounge with live music, movies, and Rooftop Garden Grill. The area works better as a destination than a corridor, so visit it deliberately rather than expect to stumble through it on the way somewhere else.

The Fitness Center sits forward with huge windows, which makes a forward cabin route useful for anyone who actually follows through on the promise to exercise during vacation.

Decks 15 through 17: The Retreat changes the deck equation for suite guests

The Retreat Lounge is on Deck 15 forward, Luminae is on Deck 16, and The Retreat Sundeck with its pool and bar occupies Deck 17. Suite guests should learn this vertical forward route instead of treating “The Retreat” as one room on one level.

Edge Villas also span two levels and have their own private outdoor space. If you are booking one, the upper-deck location is part of the product rather than a compromise you happened to accept.

That is why normal “stay on Deck 9” advice does not apply cleanly to suite guests. If Luminae, Retreat Lounge, and Retreat Sundeck are the places you expect to use every day, being high and forward becomes genuinely convenient.

Physics still exists. High-forward suites feel more motion than a midship Infinite Veranda on Deck 8, so severe motion sensitivity is the one reason not to let Retreat convenience decide everything.

Infinite Veranda versus traditional balcony changes the deck choice

Most Beyond balcony-category cabins use the Infinite Veranda design, where the cabin extends to a large window that lowers electronically rather than opening onto a completely separate traditional balcony. The room feels larger, but the outdoor experience is fundamentally different.

A Deck 12 overhang matters less in an Infinite Veranda than it does on a normal open balcony because you are already sitting inside the cabin envelope. Ceiling noise and the horizon view matter more than direct overhead sun.

Sunset Verandas aft and porthole verandas forward give you actual outdoor balconies. If you specifically want to sit outside behind a closed cabin door, choose one of those instead of pretending an Infinite Veranda is the same product.

For Sunset Verandas, Deck 8 or 9 is the sweet spot. For Infinite Verandas, Deck 9 through 11 is where to start.

Forward, midship, or aft on Celebrity Beyond

Forward favors the Theatre, spa, Solarium, Fitness Center, and The Retreat. Aft favors Eden, Rooftop Garden, Sunset Bar, Oceanview Café, and the traditional Sunset Veranda cabins.

Midship gives the best motion profile and fastest Grand Plaza access, but the Magic Carpet rail zone makes the starboard side more cabin-specific. Check the exact view before assuming a central cabin is automatically perfect.

Motion-sensitive travelers should stay lower and more central. Adults who repeatedly use Eden and Sunset Bar can lean aft, while spa and Retreat-focused travelers have a strong reason to choose forward.

The best Beyond decks by traveler

  • Best overall Infinite Veranda: Deck 9 or 10 near a useful elevator bank.
  • Best high quiet choice: Deck 11, especially if you want the Resort Deck closer without sleeping directly under it.
  • Best Sunset Veranda: Deck 8 or 9 aft, high enough to buffer Eden but low enough to avoid the Resort Deck.
  • Best for motion sensitivity: lower-middle accommodation, avoiding far-forward and very high rooms.
  • Deck to check from below: Deck 7 aft because Eden entertainment can carry upward.
  • Deck to check from above: Deck 12, especially aft beneath Oceanview Café and its kitchen.
  • Best suite geography: high forward when The Retreat Lounge, Luminae, and Retreat Sundeck will actually be used.
  • Most cabin-specific view zone: starboard beside the Magic Carpet rails and the lower Deck 6 lifeboat area.

An easy first-hour route on Beyond

Start in the Grand Plaza and walk decks 3 through 5 until Martini Bar, Café al Bacio, Le Voyage, Fine Cut, Raw on 5, World Class Bar, The Club, and the Eden route all make sense. Then walk aft through Eden so you understand that its three levels connect internally.

Ride to Deck 14 and locate the Solarium forward, main pool midship, Magic Carpet starboard, and Oceanview Café aft. Continue to Deck 15 for Fitness Center, Rooftop Garden, and Sunset Bar, then note where the Retreat spaces begin if your booking includes them.

That route gives you Beyond’s real geography: Grand Plaza and dining low, quiet cabins through the middle, spa and resort life on 14, then Rooftop Garden and Sunset Bar above and aft.

For room priorities, compare the best Beyond cabins with the cabins to avoid. Then use the Beyond tips guide to plan an easy first day onboard.
