Majestic Princess Pros and Cons: Who Will Love It?

Choose Majestic Princess if you want a covered pool, comfortable indoor gathering places and several dinner choices, with the ports still doing much of the work of making the trip memorable.

Compare another ship if your family needs toddler water play, large thrill attractions or a balcony that doubles as a spacious outdoor room.

Short version

Choose Majestic for the covered forward pool, protected lounging, flexible included food and conventional theater-and-lounge evenings. Check compact or obstructed balconies carefully, compare real package spending, and choose another ship if toddler water play or major thrill attractions are essential.

The covered pool is a useful reason to choose Majestic

Hollywood Pool Club is forward on Sun Deck 17, beside the protected Hollywood Conservatory area. The enclosure gives you a swimming and sitting option when wind or rain makes the open Lido deck less appealing.

That is an advantage worth pricing if you expect to spend time onboard in cooler weather. It can make a sea day easier without requiring a spa purchase or retreating to the cabin whenever the forecast changes.

The practical tradeoff is popularity: other guests will want the same protected space when the weather turns. Go earlier if a particular seat matters, and leave room for a different lounge or café stop when the area is busy.

Choose the ship for this feature if you actually enjoy swimming or lounging indoors. If you usually spend port days ashore and seldom use the pool, a better itinerary or room may matter more than the enclosure.

The protected forward lounge gives you a second setting

The Hollywood Conservatory on the deck plan is part of the forward retreat Princess promotes as Hollywood Club. Use it for daylight, a sea view and a comfortable pause rather than expecting the noisy central pool atmosphere everywhere.

It is especially useful when different people want different levels of activity. One person can read while another enjoys the pool area, without needing to turn every break into a formal family appointment.

Check the current posted access rules when you arrive. Do not buy a fare expecting a specific adults-only promise based on another Royal-class ship’s retreat, because Majestic’s forward layout is different.

This ship does not have a Sanctuary shown on its current deck plan. Book The Enclave for the thermal experience if that appeals, rather than planning to reserve a Sanctuary lounger here by copying advice from a sister ship.

There is enough included food to keep the budget flexible

Symphony, Concerto and Allegro give you the main dining program, while World Fresh Marketplace provides the buffet option. International Café in the Piazza is useful for smaller meals when a full restaurant stop would interrupt the day.

On Deck 16, Alfredo’s Slice, Salty Dog Cafe and Swirls cover pizza, burgers and soft serve around the pool. You can feed the family comfortably without making a paid restaurant reservation for every evening.

That flexibility helps on a port-heavy cruise, when returning tired or late can change the plan. Check hours and the nightly menu, then use the included meal that suits the moment instead of forcing a reservation because it sounded appealing at home.

Specialty drinks, certain menu products and delivery can have charges. Keep those separate from the included food, particularly when a café pastry or soft-serve cone sits beside a paid coffee or smoothie option.

Our Majestic dining guide helps you choose the meals worth paying for. Start with food you enjoy, then decide whether a package reduces the cost of the purchases you already wanted.

The refit gives you more current dining choices

The public-space changes added O’Malley’s Irish Pub and brought Sabatini’s Italian Trattoria into the former Harmony space. You now have pub food, Italian cooking, Crown Grill’s steakhouse evening and The Catch by Rudi’s seafood-focused specialty dinner to compare.

Choose Sabatini’s for handmade pasta and an unhurried Italian meal, or Crown Grill when steak is the reason for the evening. O’Malley’s can work when you would rather hear music and have pub food than plan another lengthy restaurant dinner.

The important pizza distinction is that both Alfredo formats remain: paid sit-down Alfredo’s Pizzeria on Deck 6 and included Alfredo’s Slice on Deck 16. The pool counter replaced Chopsticks Noodle Bar, so you do not have to give up the seated pizzeria to use the newer option.

Read the current Majestic dining lineup before booking around an old restaurant name. Harmony and the former noodle counter are not the choices to expect on the present layout.

The extra restaurants can tempt you to overspend

Variety is useful, but several distinctive meals carry charges. A long cruise does not require a specialty booking every night, especially when an included menu or a later buffet meal fits the day better.

For new Majestic package purchases, Plus currently costs $70 per person per day and Premier $105 before the four-day pre-cruise cutoff. Purchases within four days of departure or onboard cost $75 and $110 respectively.

Princess honors packages purchased for 2026 sailings before October 13, 2026 as purchased. Check your existing confirmation and the upgrade quote before replacing an older package.

Plus includes four casual meals per guest per voyage, while Premier includes unlimited casual and specialty meals under its terms. Compare the other benefits too, including drinks, crew appreciation and internet, rather than deciding purely from the number of restaurants aboard.

At the current new-purchase prices, the Premier upgrade from Plus costs $245 per person for a seven-day cruise. That is worth paying only when the dining and other additional benefits earn enough value for your vacation.

The package comparison gives the current limits. Meals left unused have no cash value, so leave room to choose Standard or Plus when those fit your habits more closely.

The Piazza makes an easy shared base

The central Piazza links Decks 5, 6 and 7, with café food, bars, shops and scheduled events nearby. Make a clear meeting point here if your group spends the day in different parts of the ship.

For an easy break, sit with an included café bite and watch the day’s program rather than booking another activity. This is one of Majestic’s strengths for travelers who like conversation and music between the larger plans.

The same popularity can make the area and central elevators busy around events or dinner. Use the forward or aft bank when it better matches your destination, and try the stairs for a short trip if they suit your mobility.

Our Majestic deck guide helps you avoid repeatedly walking to the wrong end. In particular, Allegro’s aft Deck 6 entrance needs a different route from the central dining rooms.

Entertainment suits a conventional cruise evening

Princess Theater, Vista Lounge and Princess Live offer shows, music, comedy, games or presentations according to the sailing’s program. Movies Under the Stars gives you another choice outside when the weather makes a deck chair appealing.

Choose one main evening event, then leave time for dinner and a lounge stop. The ship works well when you enjoy a familiar cruise routine without expecting a large new spectacle every time you go out.

Do not pay a premium for an old production title from a review without checking the current program. Artists, show sequences and schedules can change, while the broader choice of theater, music and games is the useful booking consideration.

Families who need a waterpark, climbing challenge or constant thrill hardware should compare ships built around those attractions. SeaWalk is a memorable short visit, but its glass floor is not a substitute for a full adventure deck.

The outdoor features are pleasant smaller experiences

Try SeaWalk on the starboard side of Deck 16 when conditions allow, then compare the port-side SeaView Bar outlook. A few minutes above the water can be fun without making either feature the main reason to buy the cruise.

The upper Sports Deck has a court and walking track, with The Greens mini-golf aft on Sky Deck 19. Those are useful breaks when you want fresh air without paying for another experience.

Wind, rain and operating restrictions can limit outdoor use. Keep the covered pool, indoor games or a film as alternatives rather than expecting the open decks to carry every sea day.

If scenery is central to your itinerary, compare the indoor sightlines and outdoor viewing positions you will use. A protected lounge helps, but it does not guarantee an empty panoramic seat whenever the ship approaches a headline sight.

A good cabin needs more care than the category name

An ordinary balcony such as B438 or B439 buys a private outdoor seat without a suite fare, but it is still a compact balcony rather than an outdoor living room. Spend more for a different shape only when extra lounging space would change how you use it.

Emerald Deck 8 includes BW and DW obstructed balconies. A lower fare can be attractive when daylight and fresh air matter more than a clear seated view, but it is a compromise to choose deliberately.

Marina Deck 15 offers a short trip to the pool and buffet, with different kinds of space overhead across Lido Deck 16. Inspect the particular room instead of calling the whole deck noisy or assuming the high position is automatically better.

Use our Majestic cabin cautions before paying for a room. Cabins above and below, a manageable elevator route and the right bed layout can matter more every day than a premium category label.

Young families need to check the water-play fit

Majestic has age-banded youth spaces for children and teens, but pool access is not a substitute for a toddler splash area. Children in diapers or swim diapers, and children who are not toilet trained, cannot use the pools or spas.

That restriction matters if swimming is the activity your toddler is most excited about. Compare the current family participation rules before promising water time or planning adult breaks around a youth club.

For a child eligible for the club, visit together and review the pickup arrangements early. A good age fit and a child who enjoys the space can make the cruise easier, while registration alone does not guarantee they will want to stay.

For mobility needs, discuss the exact room and transfer arrangements before finalizing the cruise. The covered spaces are useful only if the routes and accommodation work comfortably for the person using them.

Book the itinerary and total that suit you

Compare the exact departure’s ports, sea days and arrival times before buying flights or extras. Majestic changes routes by season, and an attractive description of a past European cruise is not a promise about the sailing you are booking.

A port-heavy route may leave less time for a thermal pass or nightly specialty dining. A sea-day-heavy voyage gives the covered pool and indoor gathering places more chances to earn their place in the fare comparison.

For solo travel, use the one-guest quote rather than halving a double-occupancy headline. For a family, compare the full total after cabin occupancy, travel, expected purchases and any package benefits are settled.

Choose Majestic when its protected pool, food choices and relaxed entertainment rhythm are things your group will enjoy. If those features do not solve your priorities, put the money toward a ship and itinerary that do.
