Majestic Princess Tips, Secrets & Things to Know: Mistakes to Avoid Before Sailing
On Majestic Princess, learn the covered Hollywood pool route, the café meeting point and the aft approach to Allegro before the first busy evening.
Choose the meals and relaxation time you want, use any dining or laundry benefits already included, and buy a package only when it lowers that planned bill.
Short version
First learn the covered Hollywood area and aft Allegro approach, then make International Café the easy food-and-meeting stop. Settle laundry, dining eligibility and children’s sessions once, so the rest of the week can follow the ports and your energy.
Find Hollywood before the weather turns
Go forward on Sun Deck 17 to find Hollywood Pool Club and the adjoining Conservatory. Knowing the route makes a windy or rainy sea day easier without an expensive last-minute plan.
Check the posted access rules and available seating while you are there. The covered area is a useful alternative to the open pool deck, but it is not a promise of an empty chair or a particular adults-only policy.
Pack a swimsuit even for a cooler itinerary if you enjoy swimming. Also bring a layer for outdoor viewing so that the choice between an indoor seat and a deck walk is comfortable rather than decided by your packing.
If you mainly want a quiet seat, try the Conservatory before paying for a thermal pass. Buy The Enclave for its hydrotherapy and heat experiences, not simply because you need somewhere indoors.

Use the current restaurant names
Sabatini’s Italian Trattoria replaced Harmony on Deck 5, and O’Malley’s Irish Pub replaced Vines. Good Spirits is in the former Piazza Bar space, while Bellini’s has a Deck 6 location.
On Deck 16, Alfredo’s Slice replaced Chopsticks and Salty Dog Cafe replaced the older lobster counter. Those changes matter when a launch-era video sends you looking for food that is no longer in that space.
The paid sit-down Alfredo’s Pizzeria remains on Deck 6. Use that for a made-to-order pizza meal, and choose included Slice upstairs when a quick pool lunch is what you want.
Read the current Majestic ship page before making a restaurant your reason to book. A public-space refit also does not prove that every cabin furnishing was replaced.
Make the café your easy meeting point
International Café is central on Deck 5 and is advertised as open 24 hours. Remember it for a small breakfast, late snack or sandwich when one person wants food and the rest are not ready for a meal.
Agree on a specific place and time, such as the café entrance, rather than saying only to meet in the multi-level Piazza. That makes it easier for people coming from different decks to find each other.
Check specialty-coffee pricing or your drink benefit when ordering beside the included food case. A pastry can be included while the coffee preparation you choose is a separate purchase.
For a port morning, check your departure time first and choose the food stop that leaves a comfortable walk to the gangway. A long seated breakfast may be enjoyable on a sea day and awkward before an early tour.

Learn Allegro’s route in daylight
Allegro is aft on Deck 6, with a galley preventing a useful straight-through walk from the central dining area. Use the aft elevators, or walk aft on Deck 7 and come down near the stern.
Try that route before the first dinner there, especially when the group includes someone who needs a shorter accessible walk. Once you have seen it, the layout is easier to explain than to solve while everyone is hungry.
Use the app to confirm your dining room and time rather than assuming another member of the group remembers the assignment. Symphony on Deck 5 and central Concerto on Deck 6 require different arrivals.
Our Majestic deck guide helps you choose the bank for other destinations too. Forward suits theater and spa visits; aft serves Vista Lounge and the upper buffet area.
Check laundry benefits before using the machines
Self-service laundry and products have charges, with tokens available using the Medallion under the published onboard process. Look for the laundromat on your cabin deck and check the current instructions before carrying a large bag down the corridor.
Eligible full-suite and Elite guests have complimentary sent-out laundry under the applicable terms. Express service is excluded, so leave time for the ordinary turnaround instead of assuming a rush order will be free.
If you have that benefit, compare it with the convenience of doing a small load yourself. A complimentary service helps only when its timing fits the clothes you need for the next day.
Irons are supplied in self-service laundries. Leave a personal iron or garment steamer at home, and use the approved onboard option rather than packing equipment that Princess prohibits.
Use one planned wash to pack fewer repeat daytime outfits, and leave a spare outfit while sent-out laundry is away. The onboard rules explain the permitted equipment and laundry process.
Use your qualifying dining benefit
Reserve Collection Dining is available to eligible Reserve Mini-Suite and full-suite guests. An ordinary Mini-Suite or dining package does not create the same access, so verify the exact room category before building a flexible dinner plan around it.
If your room qualifies, the dedicated area and expedited seating can save you from arranging a different reservation every evening. Use the included benefit before buying specialty dinners simply to avoid uncertainty about timing.
Full-suite benefits also include specialty-restaurant breakfast and complimentary laundry and professional cleaning under current terms. Ask about where and when to use breakfast after boarding so that the perk becomes part of your morning routine.
If friends are in a nonqualifying category, plan shared meals in a venue everyone can use. Our Majestic cabin choices guide helps compare those benefits before you pay for an upgrade.
Do the package math for the whole voyage
For new Majestic package purchases, Plus currently costs $70 per person per day and Premier $105 before the four-day pre-cruise cutoff. Purchases within four days of departure or onboard cost $75 and $110 respectively.
Princess honors packages bought for 2026 sailings before October 13, 2026 as purchased. Keep the original confirmation when comparing a new quote, because older benefits and newly advertised terms can differ.
Plus includes four casual meals per guest per voyage; Premier includes unlimited eligible casual and specialty meals. Assign those to the O’Malley’s, sushi, pizza or specialty dinners you already want, rather than creating meals to use a credit.
Add realistic drinks, internet and crew appreciation to the comparison. A port-heavy itinerary can give you fewer onboard hours to use the benefits than a voyage with consecutive sea days.
For the current published crew-appreciation amounts, budget $18 per guest per day for an ordinary Inside or Balcony, $19 for a Mini-Suite or Reserve room, and $20 for a full suite. Packages include crew appreciation under their terms, so avoid counting it twice.
Put the package terms in one place with the booking confirmation, including the allowance on an older purchase. Then choose the restaurants you want rather than spending each day trying to use a meal credit.
Make OceanNow convenient without guessing the bill
OceanNow uses the Princess app for delivery to eligible locations, and the Medallion supports cabin access and purchases. Test the app’s onboard connection early so the first order is not also your first attempt to use it.
Without an eligible waiver, OceanNow access is $14.99 per guest per voyage, while phone room-service delivery is $5 per room order. Current Plus and Premier waive those delivery fees, but priced menu items and beverages can still have charges.
Read the order total and estimated delivery time before confirming. An included access fee does not turn a paid item into free food, and an estimated arrival is not a reason to schedule an activity too closely afterward.
Choose delivery when a cabin morning or a comfortable seat matters more than a restaurant visit. For a small snack nearby, the included café or pool counter may be simpler than waiting for an order.
Keep the first afternoon manageable
Complete the required safety process, check the room and confirm dining before trying to tour every public space. Report a maintenance issue early so it can be addressed while you are getting settled.
Visit the younger child’s club together and review authorized pickup arrangements before the first evening. For teens, show them The Beach House and agree on a meeting place without assuming they will want the same routine every day.
Keep medication, documents, chargers and the essentials for the first afternoon in your carry-on. If you want to swim before checked bags arrive, include the swimsuit and a dry change of clothes there too.
Favor one useful exploration loop over a long list of paid reservations. You can learn the café, your dining route and the covered pool first, then choose the rest after seeing the live program.

Check toddler plans before paying for adult time
Independent youth participation begins at age 3 for toilet-trained children, with the appropriate age and registration rules applying. Family Play for younger children requires a parent, so it does not work as drop-off nursery care.
Children in diapers or swim diapers, and children who are not toilet trained, cannot use the pools or spas. Confirm that fit before promising pool time or assuming the covered pool solves every young child’s sea day.
If your child qualifies for the club, let them try a short visit before booking a lengthy adult activity around it. A place being available does not mean the child will feel comfortable staying immediately.
Our Majestic activity guide helps choose family alternatives. Indoor games, an offered show or a shared café break can be easier when weather or energy changes the plan.
Check the balcony before calling it an upgrade
An angled or larger-looking balcony may come with an obstruction, cover or a sightline from public space above. Compare the exact numbered room instead of assuming a wider outline wins every part of the decision.
SeaWalk extends over the starboard side of Deck 16, with the SeaView Bar structure on the port side. If sun and privacy matter, check how your candidate sits relative to those overhangs before paying a premium for the central location.
Also compare the nighttime layout when every berth will be used. An extra sofa or upper bed can help the party fit while changing bathroom access and the usable balcony route.
For scenic viewing, decide whether you will actually spend time outside at the cabin or use the public viewing areas. A room upgrade is more useful when it improves the routine you expect to follow.

Plan the departure and arrival
Use the exact itinerary’s port sequence, arrival times and all-aboard instructions. A past crossing through Norway or Iceland is not a reason to assume your booked Majestic cruise follows the same route.
For independent excursions, compare travel time, walking demands and return arrangements before adding a tightly timed onboard dinner. Leave a conservative gap for delays instead of treating the scheduled docking time as the start of your sightseeing.
Download maps and documents before sailing, then use airplane mode with Wi-Fi enabled to avoid unintended cellular roaming. Check what your internet plan covers rather than assuming the onboard app provides ordinary browsing without a purchase.
Near the end, check the account and begin packing while there is still time to resolve a charge or find an item. Give your airport connection enough room for clearance, luggage and local traffic after disembarkation.
How this guide was researched
This guide combines Majestic’s deck plan and venue information with Princess menus, room benefits, package terms and family rules. Recommendations compare the daily use of those facilities; the reservation and sailing program supply availability and final charges.
