Costa Toscana Deck Guide: Dining, Cabins & Easy Routes
Learn Costa Toscana’s lower dining and entertainment decks first, then use the upper pool and family area as a separate part of the day.
Pick the elevator bank for your actual destination before changing levels, because a venue’s deck number alone won’t tell you how far along this long ship you need to walk.
Short version
Use the forward elevator area for reception and theater, the middle for Colosseo and pools, and the aft area for stern meals and family routes. The youth and wellness district is aft on Deck 16, while its cabins are forward, so the same deck number does not always mean a short walk.
Learn the three public elevator areas
Use the forward elevator area for reception, the theater and the forward specialty restaurants. The middle area connects you to Colosseo and the central upper pool district, while the aft area serves the stern restaurants and family-side routes.
That simple distinction is more useful than trying to learn every Tuscan deck name immediately. Choose the end of the ship you need, then change levels rather than walking the length of a busy public deck by accident.
Colosseo spans Decks 6 through 8, and Piazza del Campo spans Decks 16 through 18. When meeting someone, include the level as well as the venue name.
Our Toscana practical tips cover the app and first-day setup. Keep the current onboard map available for operational changes and accessible routes.
The medical center is on Deck 3 near the middle elevator area. Save the contact instructions in your cabin and check the onboard program for routine clinic hours rather than treating that service level as part of a sightseeing walk.

Decks 4 and 5: lower rooms and L’Oliveto
Deck 4, Talamone, is mainly accommodation, including oceanviews and interiors. It gives you a lower cabin position and a short vertical journey to the indoor public decks.
Choose it when ports and lower-deck dining matter more than going upstairs repeatedly to swim. A cabin here can be a long elevator trip from the pool, slides and youth spaces.
Deck 5, Montalcino, combines cabins with L’Oliveto at the aft end. If that’s your dinner assignment, learn the aft approach rather than going up from the forward bank and adding a long walk.
Check the rooms on the deck above before choosing a Deck 5 number. The next level is a major public deck, so accommodation near one part of the ship has a different overhead relationship from a room farther aft.
Deck 6: choose the theater or the restaurants first
Deck 6, Pienza, has Poltrona Frau Arena forward and restaurants farther aft. The Deck 6 map makes that separation worth learning before your first dinner-and-show evening.
La Maremma is at the stern, with Le Anfore farther forward on the starboard side and L’Argentario on the port side. If you’re eating in one of those rooms, leave time to reach the theater at the other end.
Colosseo occupies the central performance area, just forward of the middle elevator bank. Leonardo Gran Bar lies farther forward, while Caffè Vergnano gives you a coffee stop near the Colosseo district.
My Land Shop, photos and other services add reasons to visit this level during the day. Combine an excursion question with another lower-deck errand instead of making a separate trip every time.
For actual restaurant access and meal periods, use our Toscana dining guide. A venue’s position doesn’t tell you whether its current service is assigned, restricted or paid.
Deck 7: reception forward, nightlife farther aft
Deck 7, Montepulciano, puts reception near the forward elevator area. Go there when you need account or booking help rather than waiting by the central performance space and looking for a desk that isn’t there.
The upper theater level is also forward, while Colosseo reaches its middle level farther back. Choose your preferred show entrance from where you’re already spending the evening.
Campari Bar and Sushino Lounge are on the starboard side near Colosseo, with Granducato Bar on the other side of that district. They’re useful stops around a performance, although drinks and sushi need their own payment check.
Casino Granducato, the arcade and Carlsberg Club & Bistro are farther aft. The casino is for guests 18 and older; don’t build a family gathering around an adults-only gaming area.
Il Vigneto Osteria and Infinity Terrace are at the stern end of the deck. That makes them a different destination from reception even though they share the same number on an elevator panel.

Deck 8: follow the food district from front to back
Deck 8, Bolgheri, starts with forward specialty dining. Archipelago is on the port side, with Bellavista and Sushino at Costa toward the starboard side.
Piazza dei Miracoli, shopping and nearby branded food and drink stops occupy the forward public area. It makes a useful meeting place before dinner if everyone knows the exact point you’ve chosen.
Food LAB and Pummid’Oro lie on the port side around the forward elevator district, with Teppanyaki opposite on the starboard side. Check the Deck 8 map before combining one of these reservations with another activity.
Colosseo’s upper level is farther along toward the middle. Continue aft beyond that entertainment area for La Sagra dei Sapori, the included buffet.
The Deck 8 cabins are much farther aft, beyond the aft elevator area and public dining district. Don’t assume a room on this deck is beside a forward restaurant, or reject it as physically inside the atrium without checking its number.
Deck 9: rooms above a mixed public deck
Deck 9, Siena, contains cabins, including the Terrace with Sea View product and forward Grand Suites. The important booking check is what occupies the same position on Deck 8 below.
Restaurants, Colosseo, exterior walks and the aft accommodation run all create different relationships. Align the two plans rather than calling every Deck 9 room quiet because the level itself is residential.
The terrace layout also deserves its own comparison with a conventional balcony. You’re choosing a room product and a location together, not just moving one deck farther from a show.
Our Toscana cabin cautions guide gives concrete alternatives when an overhead or nearby public area matters. Use it as a position check rather than a blacklist of ordinary ship design.

Decks 10 through 14: a useful accommodation base
Deck 10 is Volterra, Deck 11 is San Gimignano and Deck 12 is Arezzo. All three are accommodation levels and make useful starting points when you want cabins above and below.
A selected room on Deck 11 can split the journey between the lower evening venues and upper daytime attractions. Check the actual corridor position, because the far ends still add walking and an elevator lobby can be either convenient or a privacy compromise.
BP balcony 11120 is a useful ordinary-room starting point, while Grand Suites 11009 and 11010 occupy the forward corners. The suites also have cabins above and below, but their forward position remains a separate consideration for motion comfort.
The numbering goes directly from Deck 12 to Deck 14, Livorno. There is no numbered Deck 13 on the current operator plan, so the elevator hasn’t skipped a passenger deck by mistake.
Deck 14 remains within the accommodation stack and is closer to the upper attractions. Compare it with Deck 11 when pool and club trips are frequent, keeping the actual category and bed layout consistent.
Deck 15: inspect what is overhead
Deck 15, Pisa, is mostly accommodation, with the mixed-use Deck 16 above. The surroundings change as you move along the ship rather than leaving the same space above every room.
Forward rooms can have Deck 16 cabins above them. Farther back, the covered beach club, food and bar areas give way to wellness and youth spaces.
Choose a number only after looking at that particular overhead position. A room under another cabin is a different choice from one under a public corridor or activity area, even when both are sold on Deck 15.
If sleep is your first priority, compare a similar room on Deck 14 or 11. If your party will use the upper district repeatedly, the shorter trip may justify accepting a carefully understood tradeoff.

Deck 16: pool first, then wellness and the club aft
Deck 16, Lucca, starts with accommodation forward. Continue aft from those rooms to The Salty Beach Street Food and the covered La Spiaggia Beach Club district.
The middle elevator area is farther along, with the salon, gym and Solemio spa aft of it. The youth spaces continue toward the aft elevator and stern, so they aren’t directly beside the forward cabins.
For a family route, head toward the aft elevator area for Squok Baby Area, Squok Club and Squok Restaurant. A forward Deck 16 cabin offers upper-deck convenience, but it is a substantial walk from these aft facilities.
The Baby Area is parent-accompanied, while the club and restaurant have their own age and access rules. Being physically next to one facility doesn’t make your child eligible for all three.
Piazza del Campo begins at the stern. It’s an outdoor stepped gathering area, with the wake as its backdrop, rather than an indoor shortcut between the forward cabins and every family venue.
Deck 17: forward cabins and the main outdoor action
Deck 17, Montecatini Terme, still has cabins forward, including Grand Suites 17009 and 17010. They’re below the outdoor forward district of Deck 18, so height shouldn’t be confused with seclusion.
La Spiaggia continues through the central district, with Nutella and gelato nearby. Check charges before turning a branded snack stop into part of an included meal plan.
Splash Aqua Park is farther aft, with the slide complex continuing upward to Deck 19. Use the posted route and requirements rather than assuming every piece of the water park starts on the same level.
KikiPoke, Aperol Spritz Bar and Il Forte Beach lie in the aft half, with Piazza del Campo continuing at the stern. That makes an afternoon upstairs easier when you group those activities together.
For entertainment priorities and age rules, use our Toscana activities guide. It helps you choose what to do after you know where to go.

Deck 18: Versilia forward and sports farther aft
Deck 18, Viareggio, is mainly outdoor space. Versilia Beach and its bar are forward, with Green Healthy Food nearby and sunbathing areas around the district.
Sports and Glowing Arena lie farther aft, beside the elevated Passeggiata Volare route. Piazza del Campo reaches its highest level at the stern, with Orizzonte Bar nearby.
Choose the destination before going up: forward for a Versilia swim, farther aft for sports or Passeggiata Volare. That simple decision saves a long outdoor walk when you only wanted a short outing.
For a family reunion, pick a deck number and recognizable venue rather than saying you’ll meet at the top of the outdoor staircase. The same stepped area connects several levels, which can make a casual instruction surprisingly unhelpful.
Check wind, weather and closure signs before heading up for a view. A quick return to Colosseo or another indoor lounge is a better plan than depending on one exposed activity for the whole afternoon.
Deck 19: limited high-deck destinations
Deck 19, Pietrasanta, has Private 19 forward, plus the upper slide area and another solarium farther aft. It isn’t an additional full accommodation deck to search for rooms.
Confirm the access attached to Private 19 before treating it as an included quiet retreat. The name marks a reserved area, not a guarantee that every guest can choose a chair there.
Use the specific slide approach and crew directions when visiting the water park. Don’t assume a high outdoor level supplies the same simple route as walking through a cabin corridor.
Make the repeated routes easy
Pair the right elevator area with the venue you’ll use most. For example, an aft restaurant to a forward theater requires a walk even if you keep the same deck, while reception and the forward theater are much easier to combine.
If stairs suit your mobility, try them for a short trip when elevators are busy. If you need a step-free route, allow time and ask the team about the actual passage instead of relying on someone else’s shortcut.
Smoking areas are marked on several exterior public levels, including Deck 8 and the upper outdoor decks. Check their current boundaries before choosing a seat or walking route if smoke affects you.
Use our Toscana cabin choices when deciding where to sleep after you’ve pictured those daily journeys. A good room should simplify the routes you repeat without asking you to pay for a location advantage you won’t use.
How this guide was researched
The ship’s deck plans and venue information were compared for elevator choices, dinner-and-show routes, cabin positions and the upper family district. Crew directions settle temporary closures and the available step-free route.
