Brilliant Lady Restaurants & Dining Guide

Brilliant Lady is one of the easiest ships to overspend on drinks while barely needing to spend anything extra on food.

Almost all food is already included in the fare, so reserve the restaurants that feel most specific to the ship, especially Rojo by Razzle Dazzle, and spend the extra budget on drinks or premium experiences only when they genuinely add something.

Short version

  • Food is broadly included: the six signature restaurants, The Galley, pizza, ice cream and most casual eateries do not need a specialty-dining budget.
  • Budget separately for drinks and upgrades: alcohol, specialty coffee, pairings, Treat Yourself items and ticketed dinner shows can cost extra.
  • Reserve the signature restaurants early: your booking window depends on fare type or RockStar status.
  • Keep casual food flexible: The Galley, The Dock, pizza and other counters are useful when a formal reservation would get in the way of the day.

Dining is included, but drinks and special events are separate

More than 20 eateries are included in the voyage fare, including its signature restaurants and made-to-order food hall. Included still does not mean every cocktail, specialty coffee, wine pairing, retail treat, or ticketed culinary event is free.

Build the budget around included food first and treat cocktails, specialty coffee, pairings and ticketed dinner shows as deliberate extras. That is the opposite of the usual specialty-dining calculation on many cruise lines.

Brilliant Lady has restaurants instead of a main dining room

There is no traditional main dining room and no assigned early or late seating. The ship uses several reservation-based restaurants, casual counters, and lounges, so the evening choice is about cuisine and atmosphere rather than which main dining rotation appears on the cabin card.

There is also no conventional self-service buffet. The Galley is a food hall where stations prepare orders, while the signature restaurants provide waiter service and should be treated as distinct physical venues.

Rojo by Razzle Dazzle is the Brilliant Lady exclusive

Rojo by Razzle Dazzle on Deck 5 keeps the familiar brunch format with Spanish-American touches, then shifts into pintxos, tapas and larger Spanish plates at dinner. It is the restaurant to reserve first because it is the dining experience you cannot simply copy from another Virgin ship.

Start with jamón croquettes and the Oxtail Montadito with braised oxtail, caramelized onion and mahón cheese, then share larger plates based on the table. Dinner is the priority; brunch is the bonus if it fits the rest of the week.

The Wake is the steak-and-seafood dining room

The Wake occupies the aft area across Decks 6 and 7 and is the ship’s polished steak-and-seafood restaurant. It is included for standard menu food, while alcoholic drinks, pairings, and any clearly marked premium offerings can cost extra.

Book it for a slower dinner or a celebratory brunch and allow more time than you should for The Galley. The room’s setting is part of the appeal, so rushing to a show undermines the reason to choose it.

Pink Agave is the dedicated Mexican restaurant

Pink Agave on Deck 5 is a physical Mexican restaurant with shareable plates and an attached mezcal-focused bar program. It is not a taco counter, and its dinner pacing works best when the table is comfortable ordering across several categories.

Ask the server to help size the order and treat the cocktail list as a separate purchase. The cuisine is included, but premium beverages retain their own price even when ordered at the table.

Extra Virgin is the Italian option

Extra Virgin on Deck 6 is the sit-down Italian dinner for antipasti, house-made pasta and larger plates. Look for arancini, seafood risotto or roasted monkfish when I wanted something beyond the obvious pasta order.

Choose it for a conventional multicourse meal that still feels more flexible than cruise-line banquet dining. A reservation is sensible because a popular prime-time table is harder to improvise than a quick meal in The Galley.

Gunbae combines Korean barbecue and a shared table

Gunbae on Deck 6 turns Korean barbecue into a communal dinner, with dishes such as kimbap, bulgogi and bo ssam alongside the grilled meats and banchan. Choose it when the shared-table energy is part of the fun, not for a quiet date-night meal.

Book it when everyone welcomes the communal format, smoke, sound, and interactive pace. Dietary restrictions deserve an advance conversation because shared grills and sauces can complicate separation even when a suitable dish exists.

The Test Kitchen is an experiential tasting meal

The Test Kitchen on Deck 6 is a multi-course experimental restaurant organized around ingredients and technique rather than a long conventional menu. It is included as a restaurant, but beverage pairings or special programming can add a charge.

Reserve it for adventurous diners and leave enough time for the full progression. Guests who prefer choosing a familiar entrée may be happier at Extra Virgin, The Wake, or one of the casual venues.

The Galley is a food hall, not a buffet

The Galley on Deck 15 brings together made-to-order bakery, panini, burger, taco, sushi, noodle, soup-and-salad and diner stations. It is where it pays to go when the group wants different things without committing to another reservation.

Walk the venue before committing because each counter solves a different appetite and meal period. Hours vary by station, so the ship app matters more than assuming the entire hall serves every item all day.

The Dock House and The Dock share a Mediterranean identity

The Dock House is the indoor lounge, while The Dock is its outdoor counterpart toward the aft of Deck 7. Both center Mediterranean-inspired small plates, dips, and flame-grilled skewers, but seating and weather make them different experiences.

Use them for a relaxed lunch or early-evening bite rather than promise a full formal dinner. Bar drinks are separate from included food, and service patterns can shift with weather or programming.

Pizza, ice cream, and casual snacks fill the gaps

The Pizza Place on Deck 7 makes individual pizzas, while Lick Me Till Ice Cream nearby handles included scoops and cones. The Social Club serves fairground-style snacks, and Sun Club Café on the upper deck provides lighter bowls when scheduled.

These are counters and casual stops, not substitutes for every signature dinner. Use them around port calls, pool time, or a late appetite, checking the app because exact opening windows are not identical.

Grounds Club is a coffee counter

Grounds Club is the paid specialty-coffee stop, while drip coffee, water, tea, soda and selected juices are among Virgin’s included essentials. Budget for espresso drinks separately if they are part of my daily routine.

Do not let a daily latte quietly become the largest dining extra on a cruise where almost all food is already covered. Check the displayed price before adding pastries or other extras to the coffee run.

Ship Eats is cabin delivery, not another venue

Ship Eats delivers food and drinks to cabins around the clock except on disembarkation day. The delivery fee is $10, but Virgin waives it when the order totals at least $10 or the Sailor is staying in RockStar Quarters.

Use Ship Eats for a quiet breakfast or exhausted port-day evening, not as a substitute for working through the restaurant lineup. If you are already ordering more than $10, the waived delivery fee makes the decision much easier.

Reservations depend on fare option and cabin category

Dining reservations open based on the fare you booked: Lock It In and Base standard cabins at 15 days, Essential at 45 days, Premium at 60 days, and RockStar or Mega RockStar Quarters at 120 days. If you have an older booking under previous terms, My Account shows the window attached to that reservation.

Reserve Rojo, Gunbae, and the group’s other must-have dinner as soon as the applicable window opens. Dining can be managed through the app, My Account, or Sailor Services, while onboard availability may still appear later.

RockStar access changes timing, not the food inventory

RockStar and Mega RockStar guests get the earliest restaurant-reservation window, but food inclusions do not suddenly change into an unlimited bar or ticketed-event package. Use the earlier access to protect Rojo, Gunbae and prime dinner times.

That earlier window is valuable because it buys choice rather than more food. Once the must-have times are booked, leave plenty of space for The Galley, The Dock and spontaneous evenings.

Dietary needs require venue-level planning

Brilliant Lady has vegetarian and plant-forward dishes throughout the ship, but Rojo is now a Spanish restaurant at dinner rather than the older Razzle Dazzle evening concept. For allergies or medical dietary needs, contact Sailor Services before sailing and repeat the conversation with the restaurant team onboard.

Onboard, repeat the conversation with the restaurant team because shared grills, fryers, sauces, and multi-course menus create different cross-contact questions. The Galley’s variety is helpful, but separate counters do not automatically guarantee separate preparation.

A practical Brilliant Lady dining plan

Prioritize Rojo because it is specific to Brilliant Lady, then reserve one social meal at Gunbae and one polished meal at The Wake or Extra Virgin. The Test Kitchen earns a slot when the group values experimentation more than choosing a familiar main course.

The Galley can cover flexible breakfasts and port-day meals, while The Dock, pizza, ice cream, and Sun Club Café fill lighter gaps. Leaving one evening open allows a repeat favorite or a table that appears after embarkation.

dining mistakes to avoid

The biggest mistakes are treating The Galley like the only casual option, forgetting that drinks and premium upgrades cost extra, and waiting too long to reserve Rojo or Gunbae. Also leave one dinner open for a repeat favorite instead of forcing six signature restaurants into a rigid checklist.

Use the app for that day’s hours and any menu changes, especially around port-heavy itineraries. The ship works better when restaurant reservations anchor the week without controlling every meal.

Brilliant Lady dining strategy

Brilliant Lady’s strength is variety without a traditional main dining room or specialty-restaurant cover for the standard food menu. Reserve the distinctive full-service meals, then let the food hall and casual counters absorb the unpredictable parts of the voyage.
