Margaritaville at Sea Paradise Tips, Secrets, and Things to Know Before You Go

Make Margaritaville at Sea Paradise feel like a proper getaway by pricing the fixed charges first, choosing a well-placed room, and leaving one evening flexible.

The useful shortcuts are included food, the right elevator bank, and packages you can actually use, especially when a few nights need to hold both shore time and entertainment.

Short version

Calculate every guest’s nightly gratuity and Paradise fuel supplement before buying extras. Follow Palm Beach’s assigned window and 3 p.m. terminal cutoff, compare priority benefits by stateroom, use included meals first, and distinguish Prime’s service-included $89 price from standalone purchases.

1. Verify the exact itinerary before making plans

Choose the exact Paradise departure by its nights and listed port calls rather than a general destinations page. Routes and length vary, so don’t plan a Nassau, Grand Bahama, or Key West activity until that call appears on your reservation.

A three-night trip has little recovery time after a missed activity. Decide whether the destination, the ship, or simply a quick break is the priority.

If a port experience is essential, avoid booking a spa class or specialty brunch that overlaps the call. Keep required identification and any destination-specific forms current.

2. Treat Palm Beach arrival as a timed process

Use the Palm Beach arrival instructions and your assigned window, normally available about 21 days ahead. Suite guests and eligible priority buyers receive earlier windows, but everyone still needs the boarding pass and valid travel documents.

Print the boarding pass and keep an offline digital backup. The current terminal closes at 3 p.m.; arriving after that means denied boarding, so leave a traffic buffer rather than aiming for the final minutes.

Paradise uses the main Port of Palm Beach terminal at 1 East 11th Street in Riviera Beach. Current self-parking is $19 per day and VIP parking $25, with both arrival and departure days counted and VIP space first come, first served.

A four-night sailing can therefore require five parking days: $95 self-parking or $125 VIP at the posted rates. Payment is by major credit card, so compare a rideshare with the full parking total and recheck the port rate before departure.

3. Print or download every guest’s documents

Do not rely on one traveler’s phone as the only source of access. The official procedure requires a boarding pass for entry and encourages guests to bring a printed copy.

Save an offline copy as backup. Review the current travel-document rules for every member of the party, including children, and carry original valid documents where required.

Luggage tags are emailed with the boarding pass and become available through Cruise Control near the sailing date. Pre-tag checked bags.

Each guest currently receives two standard checked pieces of up to 50 pounds each, while excess or overweight bags incur a fee. Keep medication, documents, valuables, chargers, a swimsuit, and first-night essentials in carry-on luggage.

4. Understand the real onboard bill

The published onboard charges currently add $22 per person per night in ordinary rooms or $25 in suites. Children are charged too, so count every traveler when comparing a low family fare.

Paradise also currently posts a $15 per person per night fuel supplement. Two adults over four nights therefore add $296 in standard-room gratuities and fuel, or $320 in a suite, before drinks and other extras.

Optional services commonly add 20% service, but check the particular prepaid terms before adding it again. Paradise Prime’s $89 dining package already includes the JWB and brunch service, while standalone purchases and drinks follow their own final-price treatment.

Price the trip in a simple worksheet and leave room for destination transportation, meals ashore, and emergencies. If a promotion claims to include fees, confirm exactly which fees and which guests it covers.

5. Compare packages by use, not discount claims

Paradise sells ship-specific License to Chill and Ultimate License to Chill bundles, Faster Chill priority and Wi-Fi benefits, beverage packages, dining packages, soda, spa, and activity add-ons. Choose the Paradise version at checkout because benefits differ between ships.

Use the Ultimate Beverage terms before buying and keep the final quote. At the dedicated page’s lowest advertised rate, $49.99 becomes about $59.99 per person per night with service, but your sailing may price higher.

Ultimate Beverage Chill generally requires all guests age 21 or older in the same room to purchase together. It covers eligible drinks up to $20, with a 15-per-day maximum that includes alcoholic and specialty beverages; unlimited soda and 500-milliliter water don’t use that allowance.

Specialty coffee, room-service drinks, minibar purchases, and larger water bottles are excluded from that beverage package. Compare your actual cruise-length quote for both adults with what you normally order rather than assuming the lowest starting price applies to every sailing.

6. Know what food is already included

Fins Dining is the included main dining room. High Tide Market is the current market-style casual venue, with Mexican Cutie Cantina, Frank & Lola’s Pizzeria, License to Chill Sandwich Shack, Slice of Paradise Desserts, and Provisions.

Cheeseburger in Paradise Burger Bar is included too. These choices make it possible to eat well without a dining package.

JWB and Far Side Sushi are paid: current JWB prepaid dinner is $55 before 20% service, or $66. Prime is $89 with one dinner, one brunch, and a $25 single-visit sushi credit, so use our Paradise dining guide to compare the package with the meals you want.

Margaritaville Coffee Shop drinks or bites and whole-pizza room delivery can be extra. Reserve must-do specialty meals early, but do not overbook a short sailing.

A flexible High Tide meal can preserve a theater show or port afternoon.

7. Learn the three-zone ship map

Decks 4 through 7 are mostly cabins. Decks 8 and 9 hold the indoor entertainment and dining core.

Decks 10 and 11 lead to casual food, pools, spa, and fitness, with additional recreation above. Stars on the Water Theater is forward; Fins Dining and Keys on the Water are aft.

Our Paradise deck guide helps you choose the elevator bank before going up or down. Travel toward the destination first when practical, then change levels nearby instead of emerging at the wrong end of a crowded public deck.

The current plan uses themed deck names from Coral Reef on Deck 4 through Nothin’ But a Breeze on Deck 14 and skips Deck 13. Older Costa Classica maps can be useful history but should not guide an upcoming trip.

Venue names and pathways have changed. Save the current Paradise PDF to a phone before boarding.

8. Choose the cabin for the way you will travel

Start with our Paradise cabin choices if daylight, indoor space, or a balcony is driving the upgrade. An Oceanview is enough for many couples, a Junior Suite buys indoor room, and only Grand Terrace supplies private outdoor space.

Most accommodations are interior or ocean-view rooms on Decks 4 through 7. Serene Junior Suites on Deck 5 have large windows but no balcony.

Grand Terrace Suites on Deck 10 are the only current balcony accommodations. Families must confirm occupancy because ocean-view rooms are officially listed for up to three, while selected interiors and suites can sleep four.

Quiet-seekers should be cautious on Deck 7 because Deck 8’s theater, lounges, kids space, and dining sit above. Deck 6 is a balanced residential base.

Lower central rooms can make sea movement less noticeable, while Grand Terrace is a high midship block on Deck 10 beneath the main pool and entertainment level. Use our Paradise cabin cautions when a residential ceiling or a quieter hallway is more important than the suite name.

9. Plan shows and youth programs early

Paradise currently promotes Radio Margaritaville: Live at Sea and Caribbean Heat in Stars on the Water Theater. Arrive early for preferred seating and avoid booking dinner with no buffer.

Keys on the Water, Euphoria Lounge, casino activity, karaoke, trivia, and White Hot Neon Nights fill out the variable evening program.

Jolly Mon Kid’s Club serves ages 3 through 6. Paradise combines ages 7 through 12 in Parakeets Kid’s Club rather than providing a separate tween club, and the Teen’s Club serves ages 13 through 17.

Register early, verify hours, and ask about after-hours charges. Plan around Paradise’s own program so the children know which activities and spaces they can expect.

10. Use both pool zones deliberately

The main License to Chill Pool is the center for sailaway, bands, DJs, and deck games. Go early for a preferred chair on a sea day.

The adults-only 12 Volt pool and the bar above it offer an alternative setting, although both remain social public spaces. Weather and operational needs can close pools, Jacuzzis, or upper decks without notice.

Ask the crew for an outdoor route that avoids the posted designated smoking areas if smoke bothers you.

Choose the pool by that day’s activity and crowd, then move if the setting doesn’t suit you. An adults-only area still has music and conversation, so treat it as an alternative atmosphere rather than a guaranteed quiet retreat.

11. Build a short-cruise daily rhythm

  • Embarkation day: inspect the cabin, register children, make dining reservations, walk Decks 8 through 11, and attend sailaway.
  • First evening: see one production and sample Keys on the Water or Euphoria without trying to cover every bar.
  • Port day: keep breakfast simple, carry the required identification, and return well before the stated all-aboard time.
  • Sea or later day: use the pool early, then choose one paid class, spa visit, specialty meal, or casino budget.
  • Final night: check the account, settle questions, pack documents separately, and follow luggage instructions.

12. Use practical technology backups

Wi-Fi is available through Coconut Telegraph basic and premium options, but satellite performance varies with weather, position, and demand. Download tickets, maps, insurance details, and contacts before boarding.

Put phones in airplane mode and enable Wi-Fi manually to avoid roaming surprises. Bring a North American 110-volt compatible charger and only permitted power accessories.

Photograph receipts and review the onboard account daily. Small disputes are easier to resolve before disembarkation.

If buying a priority, drink, or dining package, save the benefit description that applied at purchase and verify that it appears correctly in the reservation.

Use the right priority purchase

Express Pass currently starts at $49 per stateroom for express check-in and disembarkation, while Faster Chill starts at $129 per stateroom and adds priority luggage delivery and Wi-Fi for two devices. Compare the room-based total with your existing suite or bundle benefits before buying another priority option.

Choose the smaller purchase when the boarding benefit is all you need. Choose the Wi-Fi bundle only when two people will actually use its included access and the checkout terms fit their needs; a higher package price isn’t automatically better value.

Give the included food its best chance

At High Tide, walk past the first counter before deciding on lunch: tacos, sandwiches, salads, pizza, and desserts suit different appetites. Save Slice of Paradise for cake or chocolate, and get the savory slice from Frank & Lola’s.

Try a served Fins dinner on a night without a rushed show transition. If you reserve JWB, leave time to enjoy the appetizer, entree, side, and dessert rather than spending the meal watching the clock.

If a lighter sushi meal is enough, order Far Side dishes individually instead of buying Prime for meals you won’t use. Its $25 package credit must be used in one visit and doesn’t roll into general onboard credit.

Sort out a special need before it becomes a boarding-day task

Contact the Access Desk at least 45 days ahead for most accommodation or dietary requests, and 90 days for sign-language interpreting under the advance access guidance. Describe the practical requirement, such as bathroom access or food preparation, rather than assuming a suite or buffet label answers it.

For youth programs, register early and confirm the current pickup procedure for each child. Jolly Mon is on Deck 11, Parakeets is on Deck 8, and the teen space is on Deck 10, so parents with children in different groups need a pickup plan as well as a dinner reservation.

Keep the final night easy

Review the onboard account before the last evening gets busy and keep your package confirmations available if a charge needs checking. Set aside the travel documents, medication, and clothes you’ll need after putting out checked luggage.

Leave one simple breakfast choice for departure morning and follow the announced luggage and exit instructions. A short vacation ends more comfortably when getting home isn’t dependent on a final rushed errand or missing document.

How this guide was researched

Checked the current Palm Beach arrival process, room and layout information visually, fixed charges, individual beverage and dining terms, youth age bands and access-notice policy. Prices were subject to the booking terms; actual booking quotes and the sailing program control changing rates and times.
