Costa Toscana Tips: Cabins, Dining & Onboard Plans

Start Costa Toscana with a selected cabin, a settled included dinner and the app ready for the ship’s daily program.

Then protect the few paid experiences and eligible club benefits you want, leaving enough room to enjoy the international evening program and the places on your itinerary.

Short version

Choose the room number before paying for height, download the app and keep your first included dinner simple. Put eligible club deadlines on the arrival list, compare complete meal and drinks costs, and give every meeting point a venue plus deck number.

1. Compare the room number before buying height

Start with balcony 11120 on Deck 11 for a practical ordinary-room comparison. It gives you outdoor seating among cabin decks, while a room on Deck 17 needs a useful upper-deck benefit to outweigh its outdoor public ceiling.

For an early sleeper, compare 17024 with lower 11032, or Grand Suite 17009 with 11009. Those pairs make the difference overhead concrete without treating an entire high deck as unsuitable.

Use our Toscana cabin cautions for concrete comparisons before paying. Keep exact room control when a connection, access need or particular public-space relationship could decide the trip.

2. Check the veranda before choosing a terrace

Terrace with Sea View is a separate product combining a balcony with a veranda. Look at its actual layout rather than assuming it is simply a conventional balcony with a larger name.

Ask which quoted area is indoors, which is veranda and which is balcony. That helps you decide whether the upgrade provides space you’d actually use or just a different outdoor arrangement.

The terrace cabins are on Decks 8 and 9, near or above the lower public district. Compare the room and its position together, using our Toscana cabin choices before accepting a premium.

3. Learn the elevator area for each daily destination

Use the forward bank for reception and the theater, the middle area for Colosseo and the main pool district, and the aft area for stern dining and family routes. Choose that area before changing levels.

The spa, gym and youth spaces are aft of the middle elevator area on Deck 16. A forward room on that deck doesn’t make them neighbors, so trace the route if you’ve chosen the cabin for convenience.

Use our Toscana deck guide to connect the destinations you expect to repeat. One sensible route to breakfast and another to evening entertainment are more useful than memorizing every shop.

4. Give meeting places a deck number

Colosseo spans Decks 6 through 8, and Piazza del Campo spans Decks 16 through 18. Naming either without a level can leave your group waiting in different places.

Choose a specific nearby bar, entrance or other recognizable point and agree on the time. That matters especially when children and adults leave an activity separately.

Use the map in the app and ask the team about accessible passages where needed. A route that looks short on a saved plan may not be suitable for your equipment or that day’s operating arrangements.

5. Use the Costa app without buying internet

Download the Costa app before leaving home, then connect to the ship’s Wi-Fi for its onboard functions. Those functions don’t require a purchased internet package.

Use the logbook for daily events, MyAgenda for plans and the expenses view for charges. You can also find the dinner restaurant and chat with other passengers through the available app functions.

Save essential boarding documents separately so you can reach them without an internet connection. Keep medication, identification, valuables and anything needed before the checked bags arrive in your carry-on.

Don’t buy an internet package just to discover the onboard program. Decide whether you need outside messaging, browsing or another service after separating it from the ship’s own app functions.

6. Keep the first included dinner simple

Check your assigned restaurant and arrangement as soon as you board. If the time or table doesn’t suit your party, speak with the dining team before the first service gets busy.

Keep that plan for the first night unless you have a specific reason to change it. A settled meal is useful after travel, and it gives you time to understand the other restaurants before paying for one.

Remember that Il Vigneto is part of the included main-restaurant lineup. Don’t avoid it because an older guide treated the osteria name as proof of an extra charge.

The Toscana dining guide separates included meals, restricted arrangements and paid choices. A restaurant can include the ordinary meal while still selling premium dishes and drinks.

7. Reserve Archipelago only if its fixed format suits you

Archipelago Edition I is one shared 12-course Sea & Land experience, lasting about two hours. Everyone starts together, and entry is allowed only within 20 minutes of the scheduled time.

It’s for guests 14 and older, and the menu can’t be altered for allergies or intolerances. Those are booking decisions to settle before reserving, rather than requests to make when the first course arrives.

Each dish has a paired drink included, and photos and videos aren’t permitted during the experience. Ask for the complete price and pairing details so you’re buying the actual evening you want.

Leave a comfortable gap between the meal and a show or excursion return. A fixed-start event won’t become a quick dinner simply because another reservation is waiting.

8. Check club privileges before purchasing the same extra

Read the club rules if you have an eligible C|Club level. A defined meal or spa benefit can be useful, but it comes with fare, cruise-length, availability and other conditions.

Silver members’ current meal choice is a classic pizza, while Gold has a pizza or specified Salty Beach mix and Platinum has additional choices including a port-day Archipelago option. Confirm the invited menu and allow for drinks and the service charge separately, using a purchased drinks package only where its rules apply.

Qualifying Gold and Platinum spa admission is a port-day benefit, with an adult companion in the same cabin and further conditions. It doesn’t supply treatments or an unrestricted pass for every day.

A Platinum treatment benefit must be booked within the first two days under the current rules. Put that check on your arrival list if you’re eligible rather than discovering it after the deadline.

9. Settle Bellavista before arranging group dinners

Suite dining and Platinum club dining are separate arrangements. Ask what the exact booking confirms for Bellavista and which meal periods you can use.

A linked Dining With reservation doesn’t automatically transfer club access to another cabin. If friends aren’t eligible, decide where everyone can eat together before making Bellavista the group plan.

Membership status and availability can also affect a reserved club arrangement. Keep written confirmation for your particular cruise rather than relying on an old welcome letter or another guest’s benefits.

10. Compare fare benefits with an ordinary port day

Use the US fares to compare the same sailing and room. My Cruise, All Inclusive and the suite version attach different benefits, so the room label alone doesn’t settle what you’re buying.

Imagine a normal day ashore and list the drinks and extras you’d actually use before evaluating a package. That gives you a useful comparison when most of the week will be spent ashore.

Check the outlet as well as the drink. Infinity Bar’s listed coverage excludes ordinary drinks packages, with an exception for My Drinks Plus.

Keep suite, member and fare benefits separate when comparing totals. Counting the same meal privilege twice makes an upgrade look more valuable than it is.

Costa Toscana : Quiet Reading

11. Put hotel service charges into the trip total

On the US service charge page, the suggested nightly hotel amount for most itineraries is 11 euros per guest age 15 and older. For ages 4 through 14 it is 5.50 euros, with no amount applied to children under 4.

At those quoted amounts, two adults and a 10-year-old on seven nights would allow 192.50 euros for hotel service charges. Check your exact itinerary and contract before using that example as the final amount.

Add transfers, planned excursions and the paid meals you’ve already decided you want. A low headline cruise fare is easier to judge once the costs attached to your own trip are visible.

Review the onboard account during the cruise and raise a questionable charge while you’re still aboard. Waiting until disembarkation makes an ordinary query harder to resolve.

12. Pay for a snack deliberately

Salty Beach by the covered pool, KikiPoke, Green Healthy Food, Kebab Experience and branded gelato or Nutella stops are paid choices. Their convenient positions don’t turn them into included meal stations.

Choose one when its food or location is worth the displayed price. If you only want an ordinary lunch, the included restaurant or buffet may solve that just as well.

Food LAB is a paid hands-on experience, not another standard dining room. Reserve it for the activity itself rather than counting it as a free meal you found in the program.

13. Register the children and confirm real eligibility

Squok Club serves ages 3 through 11, while the teen program covers ages 12 through 17. Register early and review the actual times and drop-off conditions before reserving your own separate plans.

Children need to meet the relevant toilet-training requirements for supervised club care. Discuss medical, disability and individual support needs before travel instead of assuming the usual group program can provide every kind of assistance.

The Squok Baby Area on Toscana provides parent-accompanied play for younger children; confirm your child’s age eligibility before visiting. It provides shared play time rather than a nursery that frees both adults for a dinner reservation.

The included Squok Restaurant is reserved for families with children ages 3 through 6. Ask how that applies to your party rather than treating every facility in the youth district as open to all children.

Costa Toscana : Harbor Broadside

14. Check the water and wellness rules before promising them

Visit Splash Aqua Park early enough to read the requirements and ask which slides each child can use. Follow the posted height, age, clothing and operating rules rather than applying another ship’s threshold.

For a diapered toddler, obtain confirmation about the exact water facility before booking a vacation around swimming. A family-focused ship doesn’t automatically make every pool or slide suitable.

Gym access starts at 16, with a parent or guardian waiver required for minors aged 16 or older. Spa admission is for guests 18 and older, so check that distinction when a teenager wants to join an adult outing.

Don’t buy a thermal package before looking at any confirmed fare or club benefit. The right purchase is the visit you’ll enjoy, with the eligibility and included facilities understood.

15. Leave room for the ship’s actual evening program

Choose a Colosseo event and a theater performance you want, then arrange dinner around those rather than trying to attend every listing. The ship’s live roster is more useful than a fixed schedule copied from an earlier voyage.

Expect an international program and check the language or performance format when it matters. Music and visual productions can work well across language differences, while a dialogue-heavy event needs a different decision.

Use outdoor activities when the conditions suit, with an indoor alternative for wind or rain. A short view stop at Passeggiata Volare can be more enjoyable than insisting on a long exposed outing.

16. Follow your ticket’s port and boarding instructions

Costa can offer different embarkation points on a rotating itinerary. Keep the actual port, terminal, boarding window and disembarkation details from your own booking together with transport reservations.

Don’t book a transfer from an old route example simply because it mentions Toscana. The ship’s name doesn’t settle where your segment starts, ends or spends the night.

Use the current ship information to begin your planning, then the ticket and live program for your exact voyage. A suitable cabin, settled first dinner and clear daily routes will give you a much easier start than a schedule filled with assumptions.

How this guide was researched

Room positions, the free onboard app, dining, family rules and club deadlines were compared with fare and service-charge information. The hotel-charge example uses the published US suggested amounts; the selected itinerary and contract determine the final charge.
