Queen Elizabeth Food and Dining: Every Venue Explained

On Queen Elizabeth, start with the main restaurant included in your room grade, then add pub lunch, Afternoon Tea, and lighter poolside food before buying a specialty dinner.

Choose The Verandah for a meal you particularly want, and check room-service charges before relying on late food as a free fallback.

Short version: Use your matching main restaurant, Lido, Golden Lion lunch, ordinary Afternoon Tea, and included Wellness Café food first. Britannia offers open dining; breakfast room service is included for all, other Britannia room-service food is charged, and paid alternatives need the sailing quote.

Your room grade decides the main restaurant

Britannia Inside, Oceanview, and Balcony guests use Britannia Restaurant; Club guests use Britannia Club; Princess and Queens Grill guests have their respective Grill restaurants. These are included restaurants for the matching guests, rather than four public dining rooms you can rotate among.

Use the Queen Elizabeth dining page to identify the ship’s food options before planning extras. Queen Mary 2’s Kings Court and Queen Anne’s additional restaurants are not part of this inventory.

If you want to eat each main dinner with friends, choose compatible accommodation grades and ask to link the bookings. Friends in different grades can still meet in the Lido or book a public alternative together, but cannot ordinarily share one assigned main restaurant.

Make that decision before buying a cabin upgrade for only part of the group. A nicer room can change the social plan if it also puts you in a restaurant your companions cannot use.

Queen Elizabeth : Specialty Dining

Britannia has more than fixed dinner times

Britannia Restaurant is aft on Decks 2 and 3, and it is worth using for breakfast or lunch as well as dinner when those services are offered. A served meal can be an easier start than carrying a buffet plate and searching for seats.

For dinner, choose early, late, or open dining according to the arrangements available with your booking. Early dining suits an earlier evening, while open dining can help when port returns or theater plans vary from one day to another.

The dining arrangements explain My Voyage’s virtual queue and reservations at selected times. If you join the queue, keep the planner open and respond when notified; the current guidance gives you 15 minutes to arrive once your table is ready.

Speak to the restaurant team on embarkation day if your table or timing needs attention. A request is easier to discuss before the first busy dinner than while the group is standing in the entrance.

Use the aft elevator or stairs for Britannia instead of arriving at the forward theater end and crossing at the last moment. Give dinner enough time when a performance afterward is important, and tell the server about the plan without expecting an entire multi-course meal to become instant service.

Queen Elizabeth : Casual Dining

Club is a restaurant upgrade in a balcony room

Britannia Club Restaurant is on Deck 2, and its guests have a dedicated table for the voyage. Arrive during the restaurant’s opening hours without joining Britannia’s virtual queue.

The menu includes the main Britannia choices alongside dishes created for Club guests. That restaurant relationship and the dedicated table are the useful reasons to compare the fare, rather than treating Club as the only route to flexible dinner timing.

Use the Club room for breakfast and lunch too if leisurely served meals appeal. A premium used several times a day can be more valuable than one that only changes where you sit for a rushed dinner.

For a port-heavy trip, compare how often you expect to return in time for those meals. Club can still be pleasant, but it should earn its price through the way you travel rather than a promise that a balcony upgrade makes every meal better for everyone.

Grill restaurants belong to their suite grades

Princess Grill and Queens Grill are in the midships Grills complex on Deck 11, with related private lounge, Courtyard, and terrace areas. They are restricted benefits of the corresponding suites, not restaurants other guests can unlock by paying a standard cover.

Grill guests also have a dedicated table and can arrive within the restaurant’s meal hours. Choose breakfast and lunch there when you want to use the service and food already included in the suite fare.

Princess and Queens Grill guests can order from their restaurant menus in the suite when a private meal suits the day. Check arrangements with the team rather than assuming every dish can appear immediately at any hour.

If you are already paying for the Grill restaurant, give it a fair try before buying several alternatives. The Verandah is a choice for a different meal, not an essential upgrade needed to make the cruise food complete.

The Lido is the flexible included option

Lido Restaurant is aft on Deck 9 and gives you self-service breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks within its published hours. It is the easiest fallback when you want a quick meal or a casual evening.

Walk the available stations before choosing the first hot tray you see. Look for the salad, soup, changing cooked dishes, and dessert choices so the meal reflects what you actually want rather than the nearest line.

On an excursion morning, check opening times the night before and leave time to eat before the meeting point. If you are carrying breakfast back to the room, consider the free room-service breakfast instead of adding another elevator trip.

For a quieter buffet visit, try a different service period when your schedule allows. A packed sea-day lunch is not the best measure of every meal in the room, and a table that is useful for a long chat may not be considerate during the busiest turnover.

Lido Grill is a separate outdoor counter by the aft pool area. Check its board and hours for the current casual food rather than expecting it to run whenever the indoor buffet is open.

Try the Pavilion Wellness Café for a lighter meal

The Pavilion Wellness Café serves included breakfast and lunch food near the Pavilion Pool on Deck 9. The separate specialty-drinks menu is charged, so an included bowl does not automatically make its smoothie included too.

Try a grain bowl, salad, or plant-based dish when you want a change from the buffet. Published examples include whipped tofu with sesame, charred cauliflower with cashew and hazelnut, and a vegan chocolate brownie, while the sailing’s menu decides what is available.

Protein additions can make the lighter food into a more substantial lunch. Ask about the current chicken, salmon, or tofu choices rather than assuming every option appears daily.

The café is useful even when you are not spending the day swimming. Both the Pavilion and aft Lido pools are outdoors, so choose your seat and route for the weather rather than relying on a covered-pool setting.

Golden Lion is worth an early pub lunch

The Golden Lion on Deck 2 serves included pub food, with drinks and any marked premium items priced separately. Fish and chips or a curry can be a satisfying change from another buffet plate.

Check the menu and lunch hours, then arrive before the busiest period if you want a table for the whole group. Trivia, sports, and other scheduled events can compete for the same seating.

Let the food and relaxed atmosphere be the reason to visit. A pub lunch does not require an alcoholic drink, and buying a drink should not be the only way you feel entitled to enjoy an included meal.

If the room is full, use another lunch option and return on a different day. The Wellness Café and Lido give you useful alternatives without spending the afternoon waiting for a particular table.

Queen Elizabeth : Atrium

Make Afternoon Tea its own little occasion

Standard Afternoon Tea in the Queens Room is included, with tea, sandwiches, scones, and pastries. Check the daily time and arrive with your group if sitting together matters.

Leave a little room at lunch so it feels like a pleasure rather than another meal you must finish. It pairs well with a gentle afternoon walk or a library visit afterward.

The room also hosts dancing and other events, so do not assume the tea service runs continuously. A premium tea or special event may have separate terms even though ordinary Afternoon Tea is part of the fare.

Café Carinthia on Deck 2 is a different kind of stop, with premium coffee, tea, and treats. Check the menu and package coverage when ordering; proximity to the lobby does not tell you which item is included.

Use it for a coffee and people-watching when you want that setting. Keep it distinct from the included buffet drinks and standard tea service so the small purchases do not quietly become a daily surprise.

Buy The Verandah for its menu and setting

The Verandah on Deck 2 is Queen Elizabeth’s public specialty steakhouse, with lunch and dinner when scheduled. Published menu examples include Dover sole at lunch, with short rib, lamb, and seafood among the dinner choices.

Choose it when the group wants that particular meal or a special-occasion table. Check the menu, cover charge, premium additions, drinks, and reservation terms for your voyage rather than using a historical price as a current promise.

The current dining guidance offers a 10% reduction on alternative dining booked in My Cunard before sailing compared with booking aboard. Compare the final booking quote and the meal you would replace before taking the discount as a reason to reserve.

Selected Lido evenings can also offer a paid table-service alternative with a changing regional theme. The same physical buffet area can have a different dinner concept, so check the theme, price, and operating night before sitting down expecting the included buffet.

Start with one paid meal you are excited about and leave another evening for the included menu. If you have paid for Club or a Grill restaurant, use those leisurely meals before filling the week with alternatives.

Queen Elizabeth : Lounge

Breakfast in bed is included; other room service varies

Complimentary breakfast is available across accommodation grades, with continental and cooked choices on the breakfast menu. Complete the order card the evening before and select the delivery time for the morning you actually have planned.

For Britannia rooms, other room-service dishes carry additional charges. Britannia Club and Grills dishes are complimentary unless otherwise stated, while Princess and Queens Grill guests can also request their own restaurant menus in the suite.

Check the current menu before ordering a drink or additional item, and ask about the total if the charge is unclear. Room service can be a useful convenience, but it should not be labeled universally free just because breakfast is included.

Use our Queen Elizabeth cabin guide when comparing those daily food benefits with the upgrade price. A room-service perk is worth more to someone who will use it regularly than to someone who plans every meal elsewhere.

Raise dietary needs before the trip

Contact Cunard at booking if you have a food intolerance or special diet rather than waiting for embarkation. The current dining guidance asks for at least ten weeks’ notice and says requirements cannot be accommodated with less notice, so contact the line before booking a short-notice trip that depends on special arrangements.

Repeat the important details with the dining team aboard and ask about ingredients and cross-contact at each casual counter. A plant-based or gluten-free menu label does not answer every allergy question.

Our Queen Elizabeth planning tips help you organize the pre-cruise decisions, and our Queen Elizabeth activities guide helps you keep a meal from clashing with the show or dancing you want. Pick the food occasions that matter, leave some meals simple, and let your included restaurant do most of the work.

How this guide was researched
Recommendations combine Queen Elizabeth’s deck plan with Cunard accommodation, dining, activity and guest policies. Room examples identify documented layouts and physical neighbors, while the sailing program supplies times and available sessions.
