Navigator of the Seas Tips, Secrets & Things to Know: Mistakes to Avoid Before Sailing

On Navigator of the Seas, make the ice show your first evening priority and try your favorite slide early enough that bad weather can’t take away your only chance.

Use El Loco Fresh for an easy pool-day lunch, choose a specific meeting place on the Royal Promenade, and spend on the meals or activities your group really wants.

Short version

Check Studio B times first, use the favorite slide early, and remember that El Loco Fresh is included while Johnny Rockets Express costs extra. Mini golf is forward on Deck 13; the slides and sports are aft.

Check the ice-show times before choosing dinner

Studio B is on Deck 3, and an ice production is one of the experiences most worth giving an evening. Even if your group usually skips theater shows, skilled skaters performing in a compact rink can be a fun change of pace.

Regular shows on Navigator don’t need advance reservations. Royal Caribbean’s show policy lists Voyager-class seating as first come, so arrive early when sitting together matters.

Check the performance times before choosing a long specialty dinner. A relaxed meal followed by a comfortable walk to Studio B is better than spending the dessert course wondering whether you’ll find seats.

Bring a light layer if you get chilly while sitting still. Then stay for the show rather than treating Studio B as a place to glance into between bar stops.

Navigator of the Seas : Los Angeles Arrival

Treat The Blaster and Riptide as different decisions

The Blaster is a tube-based aqua coaster, while Riptide is a headfirst mat racer. Watch both before persuading a nervous friend or child to join you, because the riding positions feel quite different.

Royal Caribbean’s included activity guide lists minimum heights of 47 inches for The Blaster and 42 inches for Riptide. Check the full posted weight, supervision, and waiver requirements as well before choosing who will ride.

Meeting the height minimum isn’t the whole eligibility check. Ask the crew about the actual pairing rules for The Blaster rather than assuming two eligible people can always ride together.

Use the first suitable open session when the queue is manageable. Waiting until the final afternoon leaves you fewer alternatives if weather, maintenance, or a busy program changes the plan.

Put the swimsuit in your carry-on

Pack a swimsuit, sunscreen, and the essentials you need before your checked bag arrives. That gives you the option to enjoy an open pool or activity once the safety tasks are finished.

Choose a secure swimsuit for FlowRider or the slides, and read the attraction’s instructions about loose items. A convenient opening isn’t useful if you have to return to the cabin for the right clothing.

Families should measure children before booking and check their preferred activities before promising an afternoon of rides. Navigator’s slides have different rules from the Typhoon and Cyclone slides on other Royal Caribbean ships.

Keep a dry change of clothes handy if the next stop is indoors. You’ll find it easier to move from a quick swim to lunch or a show without making everyone wait for a cabin detour.

Navigator of the Seas : Casual Meal

Know the toddler-water restriction before you sail

Navigator’s pool plan includes a splashpad, but that isn’t the same thing as a designated Baby Splash facility. Children in diapers or not fully toilet trained can’t use ordinary pools or whirlpools.

The current pool policy doesn’t list Navigator among the ships with Baby Splash facilities. If that water play is essential to your youngest child’s vacation, compare another ship before paying the deposit.

For eligible swimmers, the main pool area is the family base. Adults can also use the separate Solarium, following its current age and access rules, without expecting younger children to join them there.

Agree on the family meeting point before people separate between water areas and activities. A clear location is much easier than trying to find someone somewhere beside the pool.

Use El Loco Fresh before buying poolside food

El Loco Fresh is an included Mexican counter on Deck 11, near the pool area. Choose it when a taco or burrito sounds good and you’d rather keep lunch close to the day’s activity.

Start with a manageable portion before a waterslide ride. Check its serving hours early so you don’t postpone lunch beyond the available window.

Johnny Rockets Express is the nearby paid burger-and-shake alternative. Buy it because you want that particular food, rather than assuming every poolside counter is included or forgetting the complimentary option next door.

Windjammer is useful when people want different cuisines or a full buffet meal. Our dining guide helps you choose between a quick snack, the buffet, and a sit-down dinner.

Keep Café Promenade in mind between meals

Café Promenade on Deck 5 is the easy snack stop when you’re already indoors. Use it between activities or after a performance instead of heading upstairs out of habit whenever someone gets hungry.

Its included food and paid specialty drinks are separate decisions. Check beverage coverage before assuming the entire counter order follows the same rules.

Choose a small bite when dinner is still ahead, especially if you’ve booked a meal you want to enjoy. Navigator gives you several ways to stay fed without turning every stop into another big meal.

A separate Sorrento’s isn’t on Navigator’s current restaurant list. Check the café’s actual selection rather than following a venue recommendation from a different ship.

Navigator of the Seas : Lounge Evening

Choose The Lime & Coconut or Bamboo Room by mood

The Lime & Coconut spans several levels, with a rooftop area that gives you a different view of the pool scene. Explore it during daylight so you know where you want to meet for a later drink.

The Bamboo Room is the themed-cocktail choice when you want a more focused indoor stop. Check the drink price and any package allowance before ordering an elaborate cocktail.

Choose the poolside setting for fresh air and people-watching. Choose the tiki room when the drink and atmosphere are the treat you want to give time to.

You don’t need to move on just because another bar exists. If everyone likes the seats, music, and company, let a good venue become the evening.

Remember that mini golf and the slides are at opposite ends

Navigator Dunes is forward on Deck 13, while FlowRider, the slides, rock wall, and sports court are aft on that deck. Sending the whole group to the sports area for mini golf adds an unnecessary cross-ship walk.

Use the aft elevator area for the sports court and slides. For a round of mini golf, follow the forward route and signage instead.

The official deck plans make that split clear. Save the decks you need before boarding rather than trying to learn every venue at once.

Our deck guide connects the room, food, and evening routes. Learn one forward landmark and one aft landmark, then attach new places to those two areas.

Make your meeting point specific

The Royal Promenade is a long indoor street, not a single meeting point. Choose a named venue or shop and say which entrance or nearby stair area you mean.

If a party fills the route and you’re only trying to get to dinner, choose another open deck for the crossing. Staying to watch and getting from one end to the other are different plans.

Allow extra time around a theater release or busy dinner period. One elevator delay is much less annoying when the whole evening doesn’t depend on a tight connection.

If you use stairs comfortably, they can be the simplest option for a short change of deck. If elevators are essential, choose a route that works for your group and leave the extra time without turning it into a competition.

Navigator of the Seas : Signature Activity

Separate skating, laser tag, and the ice production

A seat at the ice show doesn’t reserve time for public skating. Check the skating session separately and follow its sign-up, clothing, waiver, and safety-equipment instructions.

Pack long pants and socks if you want to skate. Having the right clothing already makes an offered session much easier to use than discovering the requirements when the space is nearly full.

Battle for Planet Z laser tag is another included activity offered in sessions. Look for its actual program time rather than expecting an arena to remain open as a walk-in attraction all afternoon.

The Observatorium escape room is a separate paid activity on Deck 15. Book it if puzzles sound like a group highlight, then check eligibility and timing before building another meal or show around it.

Choose the cabin for sleep before the view

A Promenade View Interior looks into the indoor street, not out to sea. Choose it for people-watching and price, while accepting the privacy and possible event-noise compromises.

For an uncomplicated sleep-first choice, start with a selected nonconnecting room on Deck 8 or 9 with cabins above and below. Don’t buy a higher deck simply because you assume the view automatically makes the room better.

The aft corners are attractive when you want their particular view and don’t mind the longer walk. Our cabin cautions explain who should skip them and what to choose instead.

Choose an assigned room when one eligible guarantee location would spoil the trip. A little control can be a more useful upgrade than a label that adds space you won’t use.

Navigator of the Seas : Royal Promenade

Finish the essentials before filling the afternoon

After boarding, complete the safety briefing and visit the required assembly station. Then check the dinner arrangement, ice-show times, and any paid booking you want to confirm.

Families should visit the youth-program team before making an adult evening depend on care availability. Confirm the age grouping, offered sessions, and any charges with the staff who’ll run the program.

Once those tasks are done, choose one easy activity or meal while the day is still flexible. If the favorite ride is open and the line looks reasonable, try it instead of postponing every highlight to the only sea day.

Navigator works well when you know a few useful places and keep the rest of the day open. Give Studio B an evening, use the included food that’s close to your next stop, and spend the saved time enjoying the people you’re traveling with.

How this guide was researched

Royal Caribbean’s current Navigator venue and room information was checked alongside the official deck plans, including visual checks of the cabin and public-deck layouts. Cabin position supports a recommendation, not a guarantee of silence; live prices, opening hours, and onboard instructions can change.
