Carnival Valor Things to Do: Pools, Shows and Nightlife

Give Carnival Valor one early WaterWorks session, a comedy or music evening that suits your group, and enough free time to enjoy the pool or movie you find appealing.

You don’t need to visit every lounge or book extra experiences to get a varied cruise from its included activities.

Short version

Try eligible WaterWorks sessions early, pick a comedy or music event your group wants, and leave time for both Lido pools, a movie, or mini golf. Learn separate youth routes, check age rules, and keep casino, arcade, and spa spending optional.

Choose one daytime and one evening priority first

For Valor’s Twister, the published minimum is 42 inches and the maximum is 300 pounds. Read the separate posted limits for the other slide before promising that both rides will work for the same child.

For a family with eligible slide riders, start with WaterWorks and a pool break before adding other plans. For adults, a comedy set or a good piano or pub performer is a stronger first priority than trying to sample every entertainment room.

Check the daily program after boarding and mark the event you’d regret missing. Leave another part of the day open so you can return to a favorite activity without canceling several appointments.

Use the current Valor plan to find the right end of the ship. Ivanhoe Theatre is forward and Eagles Aft Lounge is aft, so a tight connection between them needs a realistic walking allowance.

Our Valor deck guide makes the crossing easier. Deck 5 is the dependable public route when the lower dining and galley layout interrupts a straight walk.

Try WaterWorks before saving it for the last day

Valor’s refurbishment added a two-slide WaterWorks area, so use the current map rather than older single-slide descriptions. The main waterpark is on Deck 10, with the upper slide entrance shown on Deck 14.

Try an eligible session when the line is manageable. If the wait grows, move to another activity and return when conditions and operating hours allow.

Carnival’s general Twister rule for Valor is a minimum height of 42 inches and maximum weight of 300 pounds. Check the posted requirement for each actual ride, since you shouldn’t assume the second slide has identical eligibility.

Children who aren’t toilet trained, including those in diapers or swim diapers, can’t use the pools, whirlpools, or slides. The water access rules confirm that restriction, so settle it before promising a toddler a swimming vacation.

Wind and operations can change outdoor availability. Plan a dry family alternative that everyone likes, rather than making one exact slide session responsible for the afternoon.

Outdoor pool and hot tubs aboard Carnival Valor

Compare both Lido pools before choosing your base

Argonaut Pool is central on Deck 9, convenient to the main screen and poolside food. Choose it when you want the main outdoor social setting and easy access to burgers or tacos.

Prometheus Pool is aft, with the sliding dome structure overhead. Try that area when the central setting doesn’t suit your group, while judging the actual weather and crowd rather than assuming it will always be quiet.

For a meeting point, name the pool instead of asking people to find you somewhere on Lido. It saves unnecessary searching when children, grandparents, and friends arrive from different parts of the ship.

A swim during a favorable window can be more enjoyable than spending the busiest period hunting several neighboring loungers. Take the opportunity when it fits your day instead of saving every water activity for one sea-day afternoon.

Punchliner is worth arranging the evening around

Try a comedian early in the cruise and return when their style suits you. Eagles Aft Lounge on Deck 5 is the place to find the scheduled comedy sets.

The Punchliner shows are included, with separate family-friendly and adult-only performances. Read the label for the exact set instead of assuming a later show is simply the same material at another time.

For a party that wants to sit together, arrive before the start and agree on the meeting point. A group arriving in pieces at showtime has less control over where it can sit.

If the first act doesn’t appeal, use another nearby evening option rather than returning out of obligation. Comedy is personal, and a cruise gives you room to try something different.

Choose a theater production for its music

Ivanhoe Theatre spans Decks 3 through 5 forward and hosts the ship’s larger performances. Playlist Productions uses singers and dancers for music-based shows, with the actual program varying by sailing.

Pick a show because its description sounds enjoyable to your group. You don’t need to protect every production at the expense of the smaller venues you might prefer.

Arrive with time to find a useful sightline if seating position matters. If you need accessible seating assistance, ask about the appropriate entrance and arrangements instead of assuming every theater level provides the same route.

Our Valor dining guide helps you schedule a sit-down meal around the performance. Leave more time after Scarlett’s than after a casual buffet dinner.

Test the piano bar and pub early

Lindy Hop Piano Bar is a useful choice for someone who enjoys requests and a singalong atmosphere. Try a set early so you can decide whether the performer and crowd suit your evening.

RedFrog Pub provides another Deck 5 meeting place, with music or activities when scheduled. It can work for a mixed group that wants to talk, have a drink, and decide what to do next.

Don’t turn a favorite-sounding venue name into a promise that its program will appeal every night. Stay when you enjoy the set and move on when another option looks more interesting.

Paris Hot Bar and other lounges can also host scheduled events. Check the format in the daily program rather than assuming a particular room always means karaoke or a live band.

Keep one Deck 5 evening flexible

Alchemy, Heroes Tribute, the piano bar, pub, nightclub, and aft lounge give you nearby choices with different moods. Start with one event you want, then let the rest of the evening develop around what you enjoy.

Heroes Tribute is useful when sports viewing or a casual drink is the goal. Confirm that the particular game you want will be shown before making it the night’s main plan.

Try One Small Step Nightclub when a scheduled dance session appeals to your group. Check the age and entry rules for that session, and use a different lounge if the music or atmosphere isn’t for you.

Regular entertainment doesn’t mean every part of the evening is free. Drinks, casino play, and arcade spending belong in the budget even when shows and ordinary venue entry are included.

A movie can be the right low-effort night after a port

Choose a scheduled Dive-In Movie when your group wants an uncomplicated evening after time ashore. It’s included, with the outdoor screen near the main Lido area.

Look at the actual film before committing. A comfortable poolside seat doesn’t turn a movie nobody wants to watch into a good use of the evening.

Bring a layer if the weather is breezy after sunset. If conditions aren’t comfortable, switch to an indoor event rather than staying outside solely because the original plan was a movie.

Treat the movie as a useful alternative to a production show, rather than a lesser evening. A relaxed night can fit the trip particularly well after a busy shore day.

Use Serenity for an adult lounging break

Serenity is high forward on Decks 12 and 14 and is for guests 21 and older. Choose it for a break from the central pool setting and a chance to relax in a different atmosphere.

Valor’s Serenity has loungers and whirlpools, without a dedicated swimming pool. If swimming is what you want, choose one of the Lido pools instead of walking upstairs expecting another one.

The high-forward setting can be exposed to wind and sun. Choose the seat by the actual conditions and return another time if the weather makes the retreat uncomfortable.

A quieter cabin break can be the better choice when everyone needs rest. There’s no requirement to spend every free minute in a public venue to make the cruise worthwhile.

Mini golf and sports are the useful dry alternatives

Use the aft Deck 11 sports area and mini golf when you want an outdoor activity beyond the pools. It’s a different route from the forward spa even though both share Deck 11.

Mini golf can be a practical family fallback when a child can’t use a slide or the waterpark closes. Choose a time when the weather makes being outside enjoyable rather than forcing a round in strong wind.

The jogging track offers another way to move without buying a fitness class. For an indoor workout, use the forward fitness center and check its age rules before taking younger travelers there.

Paid spa treatments should be chosen for the treatment you actually want. The Cloud 9 name alone doesn’t establish the same thermal facilities or pass package found on another Carnival ship.

Learn the different youth routes before the first pickup

Camp Ocean is on Deck 12 forward, while Circle C and Club O2 are on Deck 4. A family with several ages should learn those separate routes before everyone disperses.

The included Camp Ocean program is for ages 2 through 11, with age-based groups. Register and review the actual sessions rather than assuming a named club is continuously available throughout the day.

For older children and teens, encourage a first-evening visit if meeting other travelers is important. Agree on where to meet afterward and how you’ll handle a change of plan.

The paid Night Owls program serves ages 6 months through 11 and may run as late as 1 a.m. Check the sailing’s sessions and available places before making adult evening plans dependent on it.

Set the paid-activity budget before the first tap

The Warehouse Arcade and Shogun Club Casino are on Deck 5, but they’re optional spending rather than missing pieces of the included entertainment. Decide whether they belong in your trip and set a limit first.

For children using the arcade, settle charging permissions and the amount they’re allowed to spend. Many small purchases can otherwise become the most surprising part of the onboard account.

Use our Valor practical tips to keep the app, meal timing, and meeting arrangements simple. With one activity you care about and room to repeat a favorite, the day can feel full without being crowded with plans.

How this guide was researched

Activity choices use Carnival’s ship-specific venue list, deck plan, and family and water-access policies. The onboard program supplies the performers, opening hours, and available sessions for each sailing.
