Included dining on Adventure of the Seas
The included venues give you a sit-down meal, a buffet or a quick snack without buying a dining package. Check the daily program for opening times so a late lunch does not become a search for a closed buffet.
Main Dining Room
The multi-level Main Dining Room is the included waiter-served anchor, with rotating dinner menus and an assigned or flexible seating system tied to the booking. Representative dishes can include soups, salads, beef, fish, poultry, pasta, vegan entrées and plated desserts.
Read the nightly menus before replacing an included dinner with a paid restaurant. A regular dining-room service team also gives you continuity for an allergy, family preference or recurring request.
Windjammer
Windjammer is the included upper-deck buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner during posted hours. Breakfast centers on eggs, fruit, breads and hot standards, while later services add salads, carved meat, curries, noodles, vegetables and desserts.
Walk the entire buffet before filling a plate because the first station is not necessarily the most interesting. The daily app decides hours, and an open venue does not mean every section remains active between meals.
Café Promenade
Café Promenade on Deck 5 serves included sandwiches, pastries, pizza and other small bites. Specialty coffee and some packaged drinks cost extra or need the appropriate beverage package.
This is my practical backup after a show or when I want a snack without heading to Deck 11. Check what is in the food case before ordering a drink, since the two can follow different charging rules.

Which specialty restaurant is worth paying for?
Chef’s Table
Chef’s Table is a hosted, multi-course dinner with wine pairings. Choose it when the paced tasting appeals and let the dinner be the main event of the evening.
Current price and course details belong in My Royal Cruise. The meal should be the evening’s main event rather than something squeezed between fixed entertainment.
Chops Grille
Chops is the classic steakhouse for hand-cut steaks, seafood, steakhouse sides and desserts. Mushroom soup, black-pepper bacon, filet and key lime pie are representative choices, while premium seafood or large cuts may carry a supplement.
Chops works well for a celebration when steak suits everyone at the table. Compare an offered lunch with dinner if you want the restaurant while keeping an evening free.
Giovanni’s Table
Giovanni’s Table on Deck 11 is the group choice for pasta, seafood and braised meats. Share starters and order different main dishes so the table can taste several parts of the menu.
A shared starter and different pasta or braised dishes let a group sample the menu without overordering. Check whether lunch is offered on the voyage before spending a dinner slot.
Izumi
Izumi on Adventure is the sushi-focused restaurant on Deck 5. Choose it for rolls, sashimi and Japanese dishes rather than a tableside hibachi performance.
This is the more flexible specialty choice when individual ordering matters. Confirm the sailing’s à la carte or package-credit terms rather than treating the restaurant as a fixed-cover grill.
Johnny Rockets
Johnny Rockets is the casual extra-cost diner for burgers, fries and shakes. Food and milkshakes can follow different package rules, and a cover or à la carte charge should be confirmed in My Royal Cruise.
Johnny Rockets suits an occasional family lunch when burgers, fries and the diner format sound fun. Use the included buffet or Café Promenade when the priority is simply a quick meal.

Useful prices for paid meals
For a smaller specialty purchase, Royal Caribbean’s Izumi sample menu lists sushi rolls from US$14, pork gyoza at US$9 and a US$39.99 prix fixe meal with one small plate, two large plates and dessert. The PDF carries a May 2023 menu code and notes that 18% gratuity and itinerary-specific VAT may apply.
Use it as a published price baseline, then use Adventure’s own menu or checkout total for the amount you will pay.
The crispy shrimp roll is a useful cooked choice; the champagne lobster roll suits someone who wants a richer specialty roll. Gyoza works as a shared starter.
A single roll is the more sensible purchase for a snack, while prix fixe makes more sense for a full dinner. These sushi prices do not cover hibachi or a private tasting experience, and a sushi booking does not reserve a grill seat.
Adventure’s Izumi is sushi-focused, so choose Chops or Giovanni’s when you want a traditional full-service specialty meal and compare their sailing-specific lunch and dinner offers. Compare the total for the meal and party you actually want, including currency, premium dishes and any supplement.
Royal’s package gratuity policy says prepaid dining packages include gratuities, while packages purchased onboard add 18%; compare the final totals rather than just the advertised discount.
Room service, child pricing and dining packages
Room service carries a US$7.95 charge per standard order plus an automatic 18% gratuity, subject to change. Order together when sharing a cabin, since the fee is per delivery rather than per person.
Continental breakfast is complimentary; hot breakfast and later meals generally carry the service charge. Grand Suite and higher categories have additional room-service benefits, so check your booked suite’s inclusions.
Royal’s dining-package page lists a US$14.99 specialty rate for ages 6–12 and no charge for children 5 and younger, subject to restaurant and booking conditions. Use the selected restaurant’s final total for your sailing rather than applying the rate automatically to every menu.
The unlimited package currently covers specialty dinner nightly and lunch at specialty restaurants on sea days, subject to availability and terms. À la carte credits, premium items and beverages must still be checked separately.
Compare a package with the meals you want
Start with the Cruise Planner totals for the exact Chops, Giovanni’s and Izumi bookings the party would purchase individually. Add only confirmed premium-item charges, then compare that result with the package shown for the same sailing.
Check Chef’s Table separately because its wine-paired format may have different package terms. For Johnny Rockets and Izumi, confirm the venue allowance and any excluded drinks before counting the meal as fully covered.
The calculation should use actual intent rather than the maximum number of possible meals. If the group prefers two Main Dining Room nights and the buffet, those included choices reduce the package’s value without reducing the vacation’s food quality.
Save a dated screenshot of the offer and its exclusions before purchase. Promotions change, and a clear record makes an onboard package question easier to resolve.
A practical Adventure dining plan
- Embarkation: use Café Promenade if the first Windjammer rush does not suit the group.
- First evening: learn the Main Dining Room menu and seating rhythm before buying every remaining dinner.
- Sea day: compare a specialty lunch at Giovanni’s or Chops if the sailing offers one.
- Show night: keep Chef’s Table away from a tightly timed ice or theater performance.
- Late return: treat Café Promenade and room service as distinct backups with different costs.
Chops Grille is on Deck 4, Izumi and Café Promenade on Deck 5, Giovanni’s Table and Windjammer on Deck 11, and Johnny Rockets on Deck 12. Main Dining Room spans Decks 3–5, so use the entrance assigned to your seating.
Leave one evening flexible and reserve Chef’s Table only when the hosted tasting appeals. Choose the other restaurants by cuisine and the time you want to spend at dinner.

Dietary needs, families and common mistakes
Contact Royal Caribbean before sailing for a serious allergy, then repeat the details with the dining team onboard. The Main Dining Room provides the strongest continuity, while buffets and à la carte kitchens require a direct cross-contact discussion.
Families can use the buffet, dining room and Café Promenade without paying for every meal. Johnny Rockets is the simplest extra-cost format, while Chef’s Table suits only children or teens who genuinely enjoy long paced dinners.
- Read the nightly dining-room menu before paying for an alternative.
- Check reservation times against the ice show and your longest shore day.
- Compare specialty lunch and dinner prices when both are offered.
- Check gratuities, drinks and premium-item supplements in the checkout total.
- Discuss allergies and cross-contact directly with the dining team.
For a broader comparison, browse the Restaurants & Dining guides. Compare how many paid meals you actually want rather than treating the largest restaurant count as the best vacation.

An Adventure dining plan that leaves room for the cruise
Adventure’s focused lineup works best with included meals as the base and specialty dining chosen by cuisine. Use Chops for steak, Giovanni’s for Italian sharing, Izumi for sushi or Johnny Rockets for a casual diner meal; Chef’s Table deserves its own evening.
Check the app for hours and menus, then keep enough flexibility for a late port return or a show you want to see. A good dining plan should make the cruise easier, not keep you watching the clock.
Continue planning with the pros and cons and cabin cautions for Adventure of the Seas.
How this guide was researched:
I compared Adventure’s restaurant lineup and deck plan with Royal Caribbean’s published menus and dining policies. Sample-menu prices are dated planning references; your sailing’s quote and onboard menu determine the charge.
